dark coppery burnt orange color with a fluffy off white head. a massive amount of lacing in all forms is left on the glass.
it smells of woody spice cooked citrus peels... flowery perfume, citrus, cinnamon, toasty malt, caramel, dried apricots and a slight bit of rosemary.
there is an abundance of citrus in the flavor. so much so it becomes almost numbing on the tongue!... loads of citrus, toasty grain, woody cinnamon spiciness, faint earthy pine and flowers with an intensely bitter dry finish.
medium to full body lacks any sugary coating. the carbonation builds and becomes creamy as it passes over my tongue. this and the incredible dryness keep it really interesting. 8/4/8/4/16/4.0 ksurkin (391), Norfolk, Virginia, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 22, 2009 This amber pour still wears a fine white collar despite its lack of freshness. This should have been drunk earlier, but was still a very deserving beer. Its malt profile is almost that of a barleywine, packed with crystal hops, but they’re tasty and toasty enough not to appear overly sweet. And the hops hit into those bulky malts with a large array of aromas. Full bodied, but never syrupy thanks to engaging carbonation and relative dryness in the finish. This must have been a treat a few months ago.

Nose held some nice floral hops and was quite sweet with some candied peaches and apricots.....some citrus as well. Flavor is quite sweet up front then gives way to some heavy hop bitterness, SHANER4 (377), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 14, 2009 12 oz bottle - poured a very dark copper color with little foam.
Aroma - nice fresh citrus, mango and grapefruit scent.
Flavor - huge piney bitter hop taste followed by this sappy resin hop finish.
Palate - Fairly light and somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Finish is bitter and a bit dry. Aftertaste lingers and is kinda skunky!?
Overall - Decent DIPA but would not buy again. Pine taste is overpowering the malt! ditmier (1091), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 21, 2009 Pours a glowing clear reddish amber with a medium off-white frothy head. Peachy, fruity, resiny hop aroma with sweet toasted crystal malt. Perfumey taste, quite bitter and resiny, sweeter toasted crystal malt. Medium body, smooth and glassy, with bubbly sharp carbonation. I’m not sure I got the freshest bottle... so a rerate is a must. Tmoney99 (4745), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Poured a clear copper color with a minimal frothy white head that mostly diminished with good lacing. Moderate to heavy sour citrus aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bitter flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration.
This is a very drinkable beer and my expectations where met.
