Glowing orange coloration, quite opaque, smallish creamy white head.
Aroma screams of hops, pungent pine, deep dark fruit, tropical fruit, pineapple, mango, banana, grapefruit, Delectable. Major malt is felt, as well, and it puts me in mind of a barleywine. Major alcohol smell.
Incredibly intense impression in the mouth. Huge hop blast, brilliant bitterness riding the tongue. Ripe fruit burst everywhere along the palate. Just delicious. And, although insanely bitter and hoptastic, it’s remarkably easy to drink. Or maybe I’m just inured to the hops. That’s probably it.
Full bodied, eternal finish. Not much going on in the malt department, not much you can taste, anyhow. Bitterness persists and rings fresh with every swallow.
Really tasty. My kind of Double IPA. Yum, yum.

Oct 7, 2008 Bottle courtesy of kmeves. Pours a deep clear amber with one finger white head that fades to a soap scum fast. Nice, delicate lacing on the glass. Nose is floral hops and sweet citrus with tangerines and oranges dominant. Taste is sweet caramel upfront but the sweet citrus in the aroma becomes pink grapefruit in the flavor and it’s followed by a fairly long lasting resin aftertaste. Medium mouth feel and sticky on the lips. Not as harsh as some IIPAs. Nice and hoppy but balanced - this is really good stuff. Thanks Kevin!

Oct 7, 2008 Bottle from Discount. Pours a very clear deep red with dissipating head. Nose is dank with the smell of marijuana, citrus and resin. I’m guessing some Amarillo and Simcoe, but you never know. Very big mouthfeel with tons of flavor. Nice and bold bitterness, resiny and puckering with grapefruit. Finishes dry and bready, minimal residual sweetness. Damn, this is a nice IIPA, and I thought double Simcoe was good. Awesome.

Oct 6, 2008 Single from Three Cellaes Milwaukee. Another good beer from Tyranena. Cituris and bitter. And a nice blend of the two.

Oct 1, 2008 Pours hazy dark copper with thin cream colored head. Nose is floral and earthy hops with some caramel malt. The flavor is quite the same, with a smooth mouthfeel.

Oct 1, 2008 Pours an amber color. A little afraid because I got no head with an aggressive pour, but I think my Duvel glass is too wide. Aroma is grapefruit, pineapple, and some earthiness. Taste is grapefruit, pineapple, peppery spice, with a caramel malt backbone and a medium-bitter finish. Take HopSlam and add a bigger malt backbone and there ya go.
