| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 18, 2009 Bottle thanks to Brigadier: Pours a transparent copper orange with a thin, wispy-lacing fine-bubbled white head. Aroma of sweet light caramel malt and cinnamon sugar with a touch of nutmeg. Body starts with pretty good fullness and sweet slightly doughy caramel malt with a healthy dose of cinnamon spice and earthy pumpkin. Finishes a little drier and toasty with some slightly cloying earthy sweetness and spice notes. A pretty true to style pumpkin ale, but could use some more complex malty and not sugary balance. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 10, 2009 Single bottle buy from Binny’s Beverage Depot in Orland Park, Illinois: It poured a deep orange body with an off-white head. The aroma was spicey with the usual - clove, allspice, nutmeg, cinamon - and had an underlying malty sweetness. The flavor was much the same, except that the spices got a bit bitter near the finish. Okay for what it is. JPDIPSO (4932), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 30, 2008 Colorful burnt orange/copper color. Moderate, beige head the settles to a lid of creamy bubbles. Bread and spice aromas. Spices of cloves, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. LIghtly oily feel. Early pale and lightly toasted malt. Spices work there way in with cinnamon and mild ginger. A nice malty backdrop. Has a pumpkin malt quality that is enjoyable. Spices are not over powering as many in this ilk. Nice balance and "drinkability". A good post feast brew. bhensonb (4371), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 7, 2009 Bottle from Guerde. Pours dark amber with very little head. Aromas of roasted caramel and pie spice. Medium plus body with strong carbonation. Flavor is kind of squash with pie spice. Finishes with lots of spice flavor. There’s a detectable pumpkin in the end - unless the spice is messing with me. Skyview (4090), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 14, 2008 On draught at the brewery taproom in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a creamy off-white head that has some nice retention and excellent lacing. Aroma of caramel malt with plenty of pumpkin spices of nutmeg, cinnamon, a touch of clove and raisin mincemeat. Taste is medium bodied, very light carbonation with a good balance of caramel and multi-grain malt, pumpkin, nutmeg, raisin and cinnamon. Finish is smooth, creamy with a nice caramel and pumpkin pie filling along with a mild bitterness. One of the best balanced pumpkin beers I have tried. Ughsmash (4077), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 8, 2009 On tap at Tyranena. Poured medium orange with a moderate cap of off-white head. The aroma was very sweet with graham crackers, caramel, and fruity notes laced with strong nutmeg and pumpkin meat.. so sweet it was almost candied. The flavor was quite sweet again with a candied backing.. pumpkin meat, cloves, and nutmeg all surrounded, laced with abundant alcohol.. just a touch of licorice on the very back. Very sweet as mentioned on the palate and stronger than expected.. too strong and spicy on the back, but still solid overall. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Growler courtesy of Skyview. Copper color with a medium head. Aroma of cloves and alspice. It tastes like it does have some pumpkin in the beer and not just spice, though not nearly as much as Pumpking. Ginger and alspice dominate. GeneralGao (3071), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 19, 2009 Draft at The Happy Gnome. A little odd that they had this one on tap in May, but there you go. Poured a clear medium orange color with a thin off white head. Smelled of graham cracker, nutmeg, and vanilla. Medium bodied and slightly sweet with mild bitterness. Mixed spices carpet bombed my tongue including the likes of allspice, vanilla, nutmeg, and clove. They were accompanied by pumpkin and toffee notes. Not the best pumpkin beer I’ve had, but pretty good.
