Commercial Description:
Next Brewers Gone Wild! Beer: Paradise By The Dash Board Lights - A Doubly Blessed Cherry Porter. Yes, another variation of an Imperial Porter. This one was inspired by a Cherry Stout brewed by Fitger’s that we tasted at the Autumn Brew Review in St. Paul... although I now have no recollection of how it actually tasted. Paradise By The Dash Board Lights was brewed with our "base" Imperial Porter recipe with the addition of 840 pounds of tart cherry puree. I think it has a nice tartness... and a nice level of cherry flavor. Everything changes after the yeast drops out, we filter the beer, and also once carbonated.

Mild cherry in the aroma. Brown color wtih more coffee than chocolate and coffee than cherry. I’d really like to have seen more cherry aroma and flavor in this.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Nose is fresh ground coffee, mud, earth. Taste: bits of dark chocolate shavings (stale ones) cherries, fudge brownie, and roasted nuts.

On tap. The cherries really get lost in this beer. Received with a nice tan head on a opaque brown beer. Aroma was of roasted bitter malts and chocolate with an alcohol burn. Taste was of bitter chocolate, flavored coffee and very mild dark fruits. Overall this beer was very astringent on the nose and taste-buds with the cherry profile not coming out until the very end. A waste of cherries.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a small light brown head over a black body. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and fruit. Taste is coffee, berries and cherry with a bit of chocolate and roastiness. Thinnish mouthfeel, light bubbles.

Awesome for Honkeybra handing this one over. Tart cherries, excellent roast, a little smokiness on the nose. Cherries balance roast very nicely in the flavor with some subtle hops in the finish along with the cherries. Dug it. Tyranena’s BGW is awesome.

Bottle shared with Sparky27...THANKS ERIC!!! Almost black body with a thin eggshell ring and little lacing. Fairly indistinguishable sweet malt in the nose; perhaps a hint of caramel, brown sugar, and even a little coffee. Flavor is roasted coffee, mild chocolate, and a pinch of tart cherry skin. Not sure where the 840 lbs of cherry puree went but think someone might get an entire bottle full cause not much made it in here. Still an enjoyable, drinkable brew.

Bottle pours dark with a small and short lived head. The aroma is a bit like sour malt, chocolate covered cherry, and coffee. The flavor does have some cherry notes, most noticeable at the start, but seems to really fade as it warms. The palate is nice and medium bodied, good for a Porter. Overall, not bad.

Bottle courtesy of Bockyhorsey and Wendy – thanks guys! Pours black with a half finger tan head. The nose is light chocolate and mild coffee. The taste is sour cherries upfront with milk chocolate, burnt malt and light coffee rounding it out. Let me sleep on it, baby baby let me sleep on it. Medium bodied. Decent porter – thanks again B & W!
