Commercial Description:
Next Brewers Gone Wild! Beer: Paradise By The Dash Board Lights - A Doubly Blessed Cherry Porter. Yes, another variation of an Imperial Porter. This one was inspired by a Cherry Stout brewed by Fitger’s that we tasted at the Autumn Brew Review in St. Paul... although I now have no recollection of how it actually tasted. Paradise By The Dash Board Lights was brewed with our "base" Imperial Porter recipe with the addition of 840 pounds of tart cherry puree. I think it has a nice tartness... and a nice level of cherry flavor. Everything changes after the yeast drops out, we filter the beer, and also once carbonated.

Dark brown with limited head. The aroma is roast and chocolate with a light, vague fruitiness. Decently rich chocolate notes, hints of cocoa and again some light fruit. The cherry is more prominent in the finish, where it adds a subtle nuance to the beer. The fruit and roast contribute tartness late.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with NobleSquirrel (thanks!). Poured a dark black color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of roastiness, some cherries in there, and some chocolate. Tastes of chocolate, cherries, and roasty. The cherries are there but not overbearing and somewhat on the subtle side.

Bottle: Pours a mostly opaque with some ruby hues with a thin, wispy-lacing light tan head. Aroma of semi-dry toasty dark caramel malts with some earthy black cherries. Starts with a good fullness and lightly sweet toasty dark caramel malts with some semi-tart cherries and a touch of dark chocolate in the bittersweet finish. A pretty well-balanced and drinkable brew, but could use a little more sweetness.

Bottle… Pours dark and sits black in my glass with a small, fizzy, khaki head. The aroma seems subdued even after letting the beer warm and giving it a couple twirls around the glass. I’m only able to pick up gentle notes of chocolate and vanilla. Full-bodied with a lightly creamy mouthfeel and laid back carbonation. The nutty, chocolaty flavor presents enjoyable notes of espresso, tobacco and mild acidity. I’m picking up nothing in the way of cherries in the aroma or flavor. Mid-length, very roasty, dry finish. Muchos kudos to StFun for shipping the bottle my way!

Bottle shared by notalush. Deep brown beer. Aroma is quite chocolatey. Soft cocoa and a bit of light cherry. Sweet with a light tartness on the back. A touch of earthy chocolate roastiness. Soft and chewy with a nice sweetness up front and a soft lingering cherry flavour. Nice straightforward fruit beer.
