Many thanks! 12oz bottle pours a translucent, deep brown with a thin, lacing beige head. Aroma is very sweet and inviting, sugary with a cookie edge, nuts, caramel and vanilla. Flavor is even better with MORE cookie dough, vanilla and chewy caramel but also a kick of bourbon whiskey, molasses, toffee and nuts. Finish is slightly dry, but very easy going. Not your average brown ale, something quite a bit more complex in flavor and more enjoyable. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA

Pours dark brown/amber with a tan colored head. Good flavor throughout. Tastes of roasted malts, caramel, with hints of oak, that finishes slightly bitter. Overall a very good brown ale. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Jun 14, 2008 Pours a reddish brown with a nice medium tan head. Malty sweet aroma, brown sugar and caramel. Light bourbon alc. presence.
Flavour is fairly light and smooth. Medium toasty malt, coffee and bourbon tones in the finish.
Doesn’t blow your mind, but it’s a very solid, easy drinking American brown. thejoeshow (232), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 10, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a nice deep dark brown color with a tinge or red. Has a semi-small head that didn’t stay around very long. Very malty aroma with notes of bourbon and maybe brown sugar...? Flavor is caramel malt, with just the right amount of bourbon. It is very smooth and goes down very easy. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 29, 2008 The bourbon taste is prevalent in this beer, and its somewhat oaky as well. Nice medium sized head in a reddish-brown colour, very light on the palate. Smooth, but rich caramel malts flavor with a toasted character. IlanMan (850), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA

Flavor is very malty with a lot of bourben, caramel, and slight chocolate. Good brew. Well blended. A lot of flavor of oak. Would buy again. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA

The portion aged in bourbon barrels must have been very slight, it’s almost intelligible. The flavor has that sort of diacetyl taste, which actually works in the beers bready malt background. Overall pretty tame though.
