| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 30, 2009 12oz bottle. Amber/brown pour with a big beige head. Aromas of sweet malt, caramel, bread, hops and wood. Subtle oak flavor up front, followed by caramel and then a dry finish. The barrel is not overdone on this one, which is refreshing. arkurzynski (107), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 24, 2009 Pours dark amber/brown with thin head. Aroma of roasted malts and alcohol. Can easily tell from the first sip that this is aged in a barrel. Good balance, but a bit of an alcohol taste that comes through. Dry finish. bhensonb (4392), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 8, 2009 Bottle from Archer Liquor. Pours ruby with a 4-finger "rocky" beige head. Aroma is sweet malt and arguably vanilla from a barrel. Medium body with mild, creamy carbonation. Flavor is very smooth roasted malt. Finishes more bitter than not, and with time the vanilla/oak aspect is quite noticeable. It’s a very good beer. 13mikey (177), New Hope, Minnesota, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 30, 2009 Not bad smell. Sweet oat bag and syrup. Brown color. Decent head. Can actually taste the bourbon a bit, which is a plus. Without that it would probably not be nearly as good. Gives it a woody dimension in what would otherwise be a pretty unflavored beer. nqualls (1428), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
