TITW Part Deux - Thanks Monger. Brown, thin white head. Nose was decent with deep caramel tones, vanilla and bourbon notes, with underlying chocolate and oak tones. Had some plastic notes too which I had trouble getting past. Nobody else had it, so probably just me. Flavor was well balanced with all the above incorporated, minus the plastic thankfully. Light to medium bodied, soft carbonation, soft sweet finish. A nice beer which I would love another shot at...

Bottle... TITW Part Deux... Clear, deep amber ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. Black tea, bourbon, caramel and vanilla in the nose. The flavor is all about chocolate, toasted nuts and vanilla. Medium to full-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and gentle carbonation. Finishes sweet and chocolaty with "just enough" bourbon. Best brown ale I’ve had in a very long time. A shout goes out to Monger for sending the bottle!

12oz courtesy of Monger. Thanks, James! Pours a dark brown with a reddish center; light tan head with good retention. Plenty of toasty vanilla and sweet bourbon in the aroma. A brown ale seems like a fine backdrop for light barrel-aging, and it’s done well here: light, biscuity core with whisky, roasted malts, and vanilla; a slightly medicinal edge; medium finish showing some lingering woodsy notes and citrus hops. A very interesting, satisfying beer. I’d prefer this to any other brown ale I’ve had.

12oz bottle via trade with Buckybeer! - Thanks Mark! Pours dark brown with ruby highlights and not much head.. Aromas of bourbon, brown sugar, caramel, some vanilla and a little oak..Flavor is vanilla, oak, caramel, light chocolate, and definite bourbon. Palate is light and somewhat on the watery side I think. Mouthfeel seems almost oily and I think that takes away a little from an otherwise pretty solid brew.

12 0z bottle via Buckyboy(thanks!). Pours a clear dark reddish brown. Nice spicey aroma with notes of pepper, cinnamon, chocolate, and strawberries. Taste is the same with some added alcohol, oak/wood. Not really my thing though...

Thanks to buckybeer fot hsi vastly underrated treasure! Pours dark brown with 1-finger tan head. Huge aroma of oaky bourbon, brown sugar, caramel malt, some vinous fruit, almonds, and scotch. Tastes oaky and bourbony at first, with the mid-palate caramel malt, brown sugar, figs, almonds, and ovaltine hitting the palate. Nice hefty palate and complex flavor. Please get me some more of this!

bonus beer courtesy of Styles in a recent exchange. I like brown ales and I like bourbon aged beers as well, but this one didn’t quite live up to my expectation. aroma is mild bourbon & vanilla with some caramel. flavors are more of the same but seem muted. I like it, just expected a bit more.
