Sample shared courtesy of Thickerfreakness. Thanks!
Pours maroon to brownish with a malty browl ale like toasty, caramel, and vanilla malt. Taste is somewhat mild however, and while good, I got no indication of bourbon, but some tart, bitter brown ale like malt. Some bittering hops playing a part in the taste to balance. Drinkable, but not one of Tyranena’s better brews.

Bottle poured to glass. No head from the start. Toffee and cherry like aroma with a cloudy brown brew. Slight acidic and bitter coffee like taste followed by a fairly dry finish, almost a slight burnt chalk taste. Not very impressed.

Dark, dark carmel color. Sweet malt aroma. There is a flavor that is very distinct, that though it is the major flavor, is something I can’t place. It is something from a bakery, or a candy store, but not overly sweet. It is so cool to find a new flavor that does not seem to relate to anything that I need to try again just to see if I can’t identify further ( I am going to over-rate so I try again). Otherwise, this is a good tasting brown beer with a dry finish.

Scored this in a trade with Scubarex. Many thanks! 12oz bottle pours a translucent, deep brown with a thin, lacing beige head. Aroma is very sweet and inviting, sugary with a cookie edge, nuts, caramel and vanilla. Flavor is even better with MORE cookie dough, vanilla and chewy caramel but also a kick of bourbon whiskey, molasses, toffee and nuts. Finish is slightly dry, but very easy going. Not your average brown ale, something quite a bit more complex in flavor and more enjoyable.

This stuff poured a very dark maroonish brown with some very regular-looking suds. Pretty light mouthfeel. Flavors of caramel and a little nuttiness with a just tinge of American bourbon. I’m not too crazy about beers that taste like things other than beer (i.e. beer that tastes like crappy American whiskey), but fortunately the bourbon aspect is very toned-down, making this drinkable. I don’t think I would seek this stuff out, personally, but it’s well-made and I don’t really have anything bad to say about it. I probably would have liked it a lot more if they left the whole bourbon thing out of the equation. Maybe this would be good with a cigar.

Feels like I’ve got a mouth full of nuts, and despite what some people might say, I"m not used to that. Pretty damn delicious. I wanna meet the monster.
