Taste was a bitter hop bite, with a sweet citrus taste wrapped around it. A nice caramel malt backbone balances it out. Mouthfeel is fairly light and goes down easy. Very drinkable and tasty. Too bad I can’t get this more often. Brigadier (1246), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA

Thanks for Jason for sending a fresh bottle of this in a recent trade. The Brewers Gone Wild! series is one of the things that I miss most about Madison. Maybe some day Tyranena will grow big enough to ship across three state lines to reach Ohio. I’ll be the first in line to get some when that happens.
Aroma / Appearance - A porous two finger head trapped the reddish brown body. It slowly leaked smells of pepper, mandarin oranges and resiny hops. Very smooth and even it brightens up the room within minutes.
Flavor / Palate - Orange peel morphs to caramel, pine, and a dry bitterness. Lingering nicely on the back of the throat the creamy mouthfeel highlights what is a well balanced and thoughfullly produced product. This is yet another BGW! that should see a re-release in the future. wench (30), st. paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 27, 2008 aroma is orange citrus and carmel malt. pours a golden copper with medium head. Not usually a bitterness fan, but i liked the balance of the orange, light body, and bitterness. Taste did linger a little. Boutip (2397), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 27, 2008 Bottle: Poured a deep orangey color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of bitter hops is dominating with some discernable citrus notes. Taste is also a nice enough mix between some citrus notes with some hoppy bitter finish. The orange peel is a nice addition though it is hard to taste considering the amount of hops included in this beer. Papsoe (15107), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Slightly hazy amber golden with a small off-white head. Fat, fresh hop aroma - almost herbal. Medium body with sweetish fruit and again herbal hoppy accents. Lightly bitter finish. A rather different take on an IPA. 201008 Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 21, 2008 Dark copper color with a decent sized white head. Very nice hue. A nose of apricot and pineapple delights. The flavor is super citrusy and rather sweet at the beginning with a strong orange peel bitterness combined with some pine at the end. I dig it. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 20, 2008 Bottle. [Tasting @ Papsoe 20-10-2008] Small fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Clear amber color. Pineapple, apricot, sweet flower, fruit. Over the palate came bitter floral notes with some underlying malty sweetness and a liquorish twist. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and dry texture. Moderated bitter flavor with good counter sweetness. Lingering bitter floral dry finish. Trev (887), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA

Aroma is beautiful caramel malt blending well with the citrus hop.
Flavour is citrus hop, smooth malt through the middle. A bit of a pithy orange bitterness.
