Aroma is sweet citrus, piney hops and malt. Classic IPA flavors of piney hops and roasted malt. Seems to have more of a creamy palate than other IPA’s, maybe the orange peel? Whatever the reason, it’s a very tasty IPa. drpimento (832), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 19, 2008 Poured with a small-bubble tan head and some lace. Nice coppery amber color. Malty, orangey, citrusy, hoppy nose. Flavor is more intensely the same but also with a real nice dry roastiness that perfectly compliments the other qualities. Really very good beer! Lots of flavor. Would be a session beer for those in the mood for it. Good finish. Having this on draft at Bodega Brew Pub downtown La Crosse, Wis. USA. They just put it on today. hapjydeuce (772), Del Mar, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 18, 2008 RBSG ’08. Sampled at the Pizza Port Grand Tasting. Hazy golden color with a half-finger white head. Light and hoppy aroma with orange citrus. Sort of an average IPA flavor; light bitterness and more lemon citrus. Finish is moderately crisp with the hops a bit left out. I don’t know though, by that time in the evening my palate was wrecked anyway. notalush (2675), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 17, 2008 Thanks to iowaherkeye for the bottle - pours a clear amber, with a soapy, lasting head - the aroma is a potent combination of hops, orange peel, and some dried herbs (oregano, Thai basil) - interesting - I was afraid that the orange zest would add too much citrus to an already prone-to-citrus-flavors style, and I was kind of half right - the orange adds a bitter grapefruit pulp character that compliments the hops well, but adds a little too much extra bitterness - the finish experience is much like the flavor you get when you’ve sucked all the goodness out of an orange, and you’re left with the stringy, membranous, translucent flesh that used to contain all the goodness, and you’re debating whether or not to swallow that stuff of spit it into a napkin - so yea, it is like eating an orange; starts out tasty, but get less and less enjoyable the more you chew on that pulpy garbage. drewbeerme (2291), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Luscious aroma of resinous hops, big pine forest, citrus, rich malt, and yes a distinct scent of that orange peel, actually getting stronger and stronger, it’s like someone just tore open a dozen oranges. Flavor has a strong bitterness that coats the tongue (perhaps even a touch too much by glass’s end, but no biggie) in addition to plenty of fruity sweet malt. A great IPA even without the orange zest, which adds a welcome playfulness. beerguy101 (3946), Newark, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 16, 2008 This IPA pours a medium amber color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is citrusy, piney and sweet. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are piney and grapefruity. A fairly bitter, but yet a fairly sweet IPA. Nice balance of flavors.
Another solid beer from Tyranena. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter.
