| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 5, 2008 Pours a clear dark orange color, with a small white head. Smells of juicy citrus hops and grapefruit. Maybe a touch of spice as well. The flavor has a nice, crisp hop presence, but not overpowering in the slightest. Seemed about right for a regular IPA, although it had a nice hop bite with its bitterness. The citrus portion really balanced this one out nicely in the finish. These guys usually are pretty solid for me. wetherel (1627), Encinitas, California, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 3, 2008 Clear copper pour with a quickly disappating head. Aroma of citrus, orange, some earth hops, almost stinky, but in a good way, like fresh from the bud. Somewhat toned down compared to many IPA’s, as far as the bitterness level is concerned. I think the bitterness is offset by the fruitiness of this brew, which may make it more accessible to the average beer drinker. Overall a good brew which is unique in a few ways. mar (1878), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 2, 2008 Pours with a clear, brassy looking, orange-amber body. A frothy, cream colored head shows good retention and leaves thick rings of ribbony lacing on the glass. The aroma is beautiful. Perfumy orange blossoms and bitter rinds smell as fresh as they come, with some grapefruit and lemon sneaking in there as well. The biscuity, toasted malt background is perfectly subtle, allowing the bouquet of citrus to proudly do what it is supposed to. The flavor is again very hoppy and citrus dominant, with the orange peel exerting its signature oily bitterness, reminiscent of that first bite into the peel of a freshly picked Florida Naval. Biscuity malts provide nice balance without getting overly sweet. Orangey bitterness lingers well after the swallow. The substantial body is smooth and slick, going down very easy and sitting well, hinting at sessionability. Everyone who grew up in Florida before the early 1990’s, when citrus trees were prominent, even in residential areas, needs to try this beer. It will certainly bring you back, as it did me. Fantastic beer.
