Bottle. Amber body with big, white head, slowly diminishing. Nice aroma of orange, grapefruit, resin, caramel and toffee. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. The finish is lightly sweet and moderately to heavily bitter. Dry and slightly alcoholic. Medium body, watery texture that turns slightly sticky in the finish. Good balance of caramel sweetness, juicy orange and grapefruit bitterness. Solid, enjoyable.

Tap at Binny’s (The South Loop Location). Copper pour with good clarity and an off white film of head. Big resiny and citrusy aroma- mild grapefruit and fresh citrus zest under some caramelized malt. Creamy body. Balanced flavor with grapefruity pine notes mesh with a softly sweet caramelized pale & crystal malt. Quite bitter with a long and piny finish. Assertive yet a balanced IPA.

Cloudy copper color with a foamy off white head. Relatively mild aroma of hops and citrus. You can taste the orange zest but it is somewhat overpowered by the hops which also give off some fruity notes. Overall a typical IPA, harsh and dry.

Crisp clean amber pour with big nose of citrusy hops. The orange peel is a very nice highlight layered as it is upon the PNW hop bitterness that lingers well into the finish. Very tasty and refreshing on all levels.

Bottle. [thanks for sharing, cgarvieuk]
Pours hazy orange with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has lots of grapefruit, peach, pine and generally fat, resiny hops. Light malty balance. Highish carbonation, fine dry mouthfeel. Flavour is lovely, super bitter, light dryness. Grapefruit, melons, pine. For once, the Americans has remembered to add bittering hops as well as aroma hops. Really fine.

11/20/2008 and 12/??/2008: Tyranena scurvy has a sweet, fresh, and juicy orange and grapefruit citrus hop sticky toffee malt aroma. This is followed up with a good amount of grapefruit bitterness, citrus and orange layered on top of toffee maltiness in the flavor. There is a slight honey sweetness. It pours copper orange/golden amber in color and has a dense and lasting ivory-colored head. It also has a medium to medium-full boty and a cream and silky smooth texture. Overall this beer has a good flavor and is just right. It is a good IPA that is very sessionable.

12 fl. oz. bottles (twist-off cap) from buckybeer via trade. Thanks Mark! Rating #190 for this beer.
