11/20/2008 and 12/??/2008: Tyranena scurvy has a sweet, fresh, and juicy orange and grapefruit citrus hop sticky toffee malt aroma. This is followed up with a good amount of grapefruit bitterness, citrus and orange layered on top of toffee maltiness in the flavor. There is a slight honey sweetness. It pours copper orange/golden amber in color and has a dense and lasting ivory-colored head. It also has a medium to medium-full boty and a cream and silky smooth texture. Overall this beer has a good flavor and is just right. It is a good IPA that is very sessionable.

12 fl. oz. bottles (twist-off cap) from buckybeer via trade. Thanks Mark! Rating #190 for this beer.

120z bottle from Orland Park Binny’s single rack. Pours clear burnt orange with white. Lot of sediment for an IPA. Aroma is hops, orange, and a touch of pine. Flavor is bitter hops with orange, caramel malt, pine and some other citrus flavors. Full mouthfeel with good carbonation. Finishes bitter. Real nice IPA.

Bottle shared by JW77 at Diegos. Orange amber pour. Light head. Aroma is piney, citrus, orange peel, honey and spice. Flavor is quite hoppy, tons of resinous pucker factor here! The orange is noticeable at the end and adds quite an interesting twist. Thanks JW.

I had this right after the Port Brewing 3rd Anniversary Beer, so it probably wasn’t fair. Light aroma of pine hops and a little bit of malt. Light flavor for an IPA, but very well balanced. Decent IPA though, should have drank it before the DIPA I had.

Bottle - Courtesy of ditmier. Thanks, Eric! Clear orange amber, off white creamy head. Soft dried orange zest and grassy pine aromas ride a light undercurrent of sweet toasted malt. Hop forward resiny pine and citrus flavors balance well on a backend soft sweet caramel malt foundation. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Perfect for spicy grilled foods…
