A noticeable amount of lacing left behind on the glass all the way to the bottom. Aroma of pine, grapefruit scent and lime peels. Taste is full and creamy, mildly bitter but i expected that. Huge aroma lots of orange zest grapefruit a touch of pine some light sweet notes
Nice well coated pal lingering dry on tongue lighty tart almost from the fruit
Mmmm.. Some orange zest sweet caramels & a dry piney resinous bittering.
Good stuff. My only complaint was they didn’t make this a little bigger and balance a little of the bittering with some more caramel sweetness, it was a bit more bitter than I like an IPA, but still quite good. nhorween (640), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 3, 2009 12 oz. Orangey-brown pour with a dense white head. Grass and citrus, copper, toffee malts, light breadiness. Malty, grainy flavor. Grassy hops again, with a thin bitter finish and spices at the end. Active carbonation. Drinkable, but lackluster. tmoreau (591), Lombard, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 3, 2009 On tap and pint served at the Tyranena IL. launch party at Lunar Brewing Co., Villa Park, IL.. The pour was a clear, golden amber hue, with a thick, foamy, off white head and clingy, curtain-like lacing. The aroma was mainly strong citrus as grapefruit, a touch of orange rind, with some resiny notes and malt. Ditto on the flavor with a little malt sweetness and smoothness that rounded off the hop bitterness well. Very enjoyable IPA. jstraw (773), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 2, 2009 Clear amber with good, creamy off-white head / Nose of cream, orange, soap, and dry pine / Medium body, creamy and chewy, low carbonation, with good balance between body and hops, and with good, and with good, bitter finish / Flavors of cut pine, resin, and spun sugar, and with orange notes / Not on par with the best, but very good. 17thfloor (1496), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 1, 2009 Six pack for $6.99 now in Chicago... ahhh yea. Pours a cloudy amber with a big thick frothy off-white head. Very fresh strong peachy hop aroma, fruity with noticeable resin. First taste is sugary sweet, salty and all sorts of bitter, rubber eraser, bitter orange peel, metallic, followed by creamy fruity hoppiness, grapefruit with well balanced caramel. The orange zest is most noticeable in the finish and aftertaste, lingering pine, fairly creamy. Medium bodied with a very crisp light creamy mouthful, medium fizzy crisp carbonation. ksurkin (397), Norfolk, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 30, 2009 12oz bottle via trade with FlandersNed (thanks, steve!) pours a slightly hazy, copper/gold with a thin, bubbly, off-white head, and good lacing. aroma is very nice with predominantly citrus hops aromas, orange peel, spruce, a touch of spice, and a whisp of tropical fruit. flavor is very good as well with crisp hops flavors, mild grapefruit, and sweeter malt notes adding balance. the orange peel/pith adds a nice tart element in the bitter, hop finish. palate is light bodied and just a tad thin. overall, a solid IPA. satan165 (597), River Grove, Illinois, USA
