| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 17, 2008 Tasty beer. Not one of their best nor very distinguishable. True to form. Pours with a nice head that dissipates and a little lace. Typical doppel bock flavor. It’s good that it’s not over sweet. Nice dark amber color. Real good caramel toffee finish. Be fun to cook with this. Gurst (338), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 3, 2008 Nice color, with minimal head. Smells sweet, but not like syrup, sweet like cheap beer. Taste is of cereal, honey, leather, brown sugar, and blood. Body is a smidge thin, and there is a notable absence of alcohol in the taste, something I’ve come to expect in a doppelbock. esjaygee (1548), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Mar 16, 2008 12oz bottle. Deep amber with small fading head. Sweet malty aroma. Overly malty, sweet finish. Kind of sticky & syrupy, full bodied. This beer is a little too unbalanced & sweet. jbuzz (661), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Thin almost non existent head. Sweet and smooth. Very drinkable. brown sugar, and fruit hints. On the lighter side for a Doppelbock.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 9, 2008 12 oz. bottle courtesy of my Secret Santa. Pours a hazy deep amber color with a fizzy beige head that dissappears to a thin film. The aroma is extremely sweet with caramel, toffee, brown sugar, and fruits all present. The flavor is all sweet malts up front: caramel, brown sugar, and fruits. I get almost an apple cider/apple brandy quality to this. There is a hint of earthy hops toward the finish, but not enough to come close to balancing out the sweetness. I don’t think I would consider this full bodied as the description claims.
