Malty, charcoaly (hey, after 3000 beers you get to invent words!), and sweet. Straightforward character, lacking depth of malty development. A more rigourous mash is recommended.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with drewbeerme (thanks!). Poured a light to medium brownish color with a smaller sized head. Aromas of nuts, earhty, citrus (oranges), caramel, and burnt/roast. Tastes of lighter roast, caramel, nuts, and bready.

(Bottle) Pours a clear amber body with a small beige head. Aroma of nuts, toasted bread, light smoke, burnt oats, and a hint of jalapeño pepper. Sweet flavor of raisins, caramel malt, maple syrup, cocoa, and toasted malt with a sticky finish.

Dark amber/ruby color with a thin coating of head. Semi-sweet caramel malt and earthy aroma. Bready chocolate chip cookie dough body with moderate hoppy notes and a sticky finish. No noticeable alcohol. Somewhat unbalanced, but a decent doppelbock.

From the bottle this pours an orange-ish chestnut body capped by slender ecru head. Very little lacing. The aroma is very sweet and malty, caramel with some maple syrup. The earthy hopping really doesn’t show up until the flavor, almost strong enough to cut into some of the sweetness. Okay.

Dark brown color with a small tan head. Caramel aroma. Flavors are malty/sugary with some peat qualities. Just a mid-average doppel.

Clear dark ruddy orange-red, large lasting white head. Nose is very low-wattage, esp just after a Korbinian; caramel malts and an unfortunate whiff of urine. Sweet front, an unpleasant astringent finish with some licorice peeking through, oily and very smooth body, very low carbonation, too much alcohol (esp for a 6.4%!) in the finish.
