Nose held notes of citrus and rich caramel with an underlying cherry band-aid tone. Heavy dark fruit flavors up front fade into a more intense sweet caramel tone as it warmed. Full bodied, medium carbonation, bittersweet finish. Age would do it some wonders. Thanks for sharing Ryan… ¾ (5009), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 28, 2007 12oz bottle. A bit cloudy golden orange and brown in color. Oranges and peaches in the nose, a bit medicinal smelling. Very chewy and vinuous, some smoked cheese and peach flavors, quite slick and chewy and thick. Burnt tobacco and burnt oranges in the finish. I wish I could pick out the hops but I guess I’m not that talented. Cornfield (4980), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 23, 2007 This ale pours a cloudy amber body bereft of a head. It has a caramel/toffee aroma along with some alcohol and a suggestion of woody smoke. I’m not finding any of the advertised complexity in the flavor, just some dusty caramel and alcohol. Just a nudge above okay.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 23, 2007 Bottle. Deep amber coloured with a medium sized off-white head. Kinda mild for a barley wine. Notes of caramel, spices, alcohol and a somewhat hoppy and dry finish. MI2CA (1266), Noblesville, Indiana, USA

Pours hazy copper with a small head and decent lacing. Flavor is caramel and alcohol with a touch of hop bitterness. Palate is sticky. I expect more from a barleywine. zathrus13 (1317), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 14, 2007 (Bottle, thanks Ughsmash) Pours beautiful barley wine-ish red. Sweet, fruity flavour with apple tobacco, grain and smaller notes of flowers, pears and oranges. Also some alcohol, syrup, fudge and caramel. Alcoholy, fruity flavour with notes of hops, sweet chocolate and caramel. Also some apple tobacco. Syrupy, rather bitter mouthfeel with some sticky notes. Hints of cherries and golden raisins both in the aroma and the flavour. Sweet, sugary, a bit fruity aftertaste with a late bitterness. Medium to full body. Naven (883), Poway, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 13, 2007 12 oz bottle from KingpinIPA. Dark amber color, aroma was malty and had a caramel like smell. Flavors were fairly standard for a barleywine, but my only complaint is that this beer is a little harsh on the throat. Not really an alcohol burn, but a strange acidic like burn. Still good though.
