Big resinous hops aroma. Smells alot like weed actually. I’m not gonna sugarcoat it. The taste was kind of a bitter mess actually. The hops were there, but on the burnt side. Tasted like burnt plastic or something. I actually found it a little offensive. Extremely bitter throughout the entire experience. Extremely disappointed here. Although as it warms up a little it gets more drinkable so Ill give it a little boost. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

Appearance: lots of drippy lace,
Aroma: light grapefruit in the aroma,
Overall: still all about the bitterness with not enough caramel malts to keep it balanced, will have to try it again in 6-12 months to see if the age will cut the bitter edge and let more of the malt through

Aroma is pretty subdued, with a carmel malt and some pine and citrus hops. Taste is roughly the same. A bit of hop bite at the end. Reminds me a little of Dales Pale ale. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 30, 2007 Okay, maybe the brewers didn’t go wild on this one but they did craft a respectable IPA. Deep amber with a frothy white head. Aroma combines pine and citrus hops and sweet caramel malt and, for some reason, melted butter. Medium body with lively carbonation. The flavor was crisp and clean and refreshing with nice hops bitterness dominating some malt sweetness. blankboy (3250), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 27, 2007 Bottle (12oz) shared with HogTownHarry & lagerloather -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a clear orange-amber with an average size diminishing off-white head. Aroma has a good amount of spicy, piney hops backed by toasty caramel malt and some citrus fruit. Flavour: Hmmm, not quite what I was expecting -- I’m not sure how to describe it, it has an odd harsh or astringent bready (?) hoppy flavour, a bit watery and with a very bitter finish. Average bodied. It’s alright but I was a little disappointed. fonefan (11885), VestJylland, Denmark

Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Nice and refreshing. HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada

Deep clear copper, average white head. Slightly burnt malt and solid funky hops. Taste - a little too carbonized, solid herbal hops, very bitter in the finish ... wan body, very astringent and high in alphas, seems to come apart a little too much in the finish, and seems a little boozier than 6.5% arjoseph (594), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 22, 2007 Bottle into stem glass; purchased at Discount Liquor, Milwaukee. Glowing brown in the glass with an initially big fizzy head. Aroma is big with C-hops, very nice. Beer produces a glittering small bubbled lacing. Crisp, high acidity with grapefruit light on the tongue; a little brown sugar to let you know there’s a malt backbone. Finish is long and dry, with cloves and bitter hops. Lace is more doily-like as the beer warms. It’s like a less expansive Green Flash IIPA, which is OK I guess since it’s not imperial. The smell is warm and buttery as the beer warms. As it warms, the beer becomes less good. The hops in the finish remain unmetallic. Warm and soft in the end. Overall, it’s tasty and feels nice.
