Palate shows some lightly sweet, caramelly malts, and then quicly go’s to some nicely aromatic, leafy hops. Lots of lychee and pine flavours coming through. CINe flavours, but the palate felt a bit dead. beermatrix (1497), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 24, 2007 Heavy hazed dirty bronzed brown color. Soft spongy capping of lightly yellowish foam sits briefly before slipping away to whole lotta lacing and a slight skim across the top of the liquid.
Soft and soggy wet pine aroma mixed gently with a resin sided toastyness and some oily hopped melony citrus.
Taste is deep and soft, not heavy or beefy; as the flavors are fairly broad and mediumishly bold with a softly yielding tone of very easy going citric tropical hoppyness and a toasty caramel malt backing.
The middle is the best area as the pine comes in and places itself along the walls and base of malts with some nice rendering of delicate oilyness, hoppy waxyness, and feathery pithyness of orange and grapefruit.
Feel is light at the front then gradually builds into a well-rounded medium tone and softly hopped oil girth. Fades ever so slowly into the finish with a slight pull into grapefruit bitterness and pine soured soggyness and a faint but present earthy dryness.
A pretty decent IPA thats been beefed up with some extra oompf. Not as good as the Hop Whore or Bitter Woman From Hell though. That’s the brew I would side with over this. jason (1621), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Aroma was wonderful citrus, floral hops. The sweet malt and high amount of hops were being dominant in the taste. A strong flavor, the citrus qualities were nice. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 22, 2007 12oz bottle. Floral, citrus and a roasted malt for aroma. Orange body with decent head and some lacing rings left on pint glass. The toast flavor threw me for a loop with this one. Use to the citrus flavors that were present also. Good brew but not the cool and crisp on the palate i expect from an ipa for me anyway. alexsdad06 (1081), Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 20, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy dark orange color with a dense beige head that laces nicely. The aroma that attacks the nostrils is a wonderful combination of sweet caramel/toffee malt and citrus/pine hops. I can’t wait for the first taste. The flavor has very balanced components as well with the caramel/toffee malts blending easily with the citrus, pine, and floral hops. There is also a bit of fruit swirling around each taste. Decent bitterness, but not over the top. Medium bodied, smooth drinking brew. Rating #100 for this beer. adrian910ss (1421), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
