| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 27, 2007 7/27/2007: Tyranena Stone Tepee Pale Ale is gold in color and mostly clear with some fine sediment dispersed throughout. The off-white head is small, but lasts longer than most. The aroma is bright and has a nice balance of toffee malt and grassy-citrus hops. The flavor has a nice strong flavor and is balanced between a lightly sweet toffee maltiness and a mild to moderate grassy/citrus/floral bitterness. A citrusy grapefruit peel flavor really comes out when the beer is held in the mouth for awhile before swallowing it. Like many of the other Tyranena brews, the bitterness grows in strenth and becomes increasingly more floral and perfume/tea-like with each sip. A honey flavor appears as the beer warms slightly. This beer has a medium body and a nice mouth feel. It is a solid, balanced APA from a great brewer!
12 oz bottle from buckybeer. Thanks again Mark! Rating #79 for this beer... KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Slightly hazy, deep golden with a creamy, off-white head leaving laces. Lightly sweet caramel aroma with a soapy hoppiness. Rather light-bodied with some sweetish caramel, dry yet only vaguely bitter hop accents. Decent but far from outstanding APA. 280507 Ungstrup (15220), Frederiksberg, Denmark

The aroma is sweet and very hoppy combined with a light spicy note. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, lovely hoppy notes, and light spicy notes, leading to a dry bitter end. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 2, 2007 Picked up a single bottle at the Coffee Grounds in Eau Claire, WI. Pours a hazy dark golden brew with an off white head. Very good lacing. Aroma of rich barley malt, both orange and grapefruit citrus hops, and a touch of yeast. Taste is average with a grapefruit aftertaste. Finish is a little on the dry side but very pleasing. An excellent balance ale. BDR (2157), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
