Pours great, black with a big ol’ tan head. Lots of lacing. Slightly oily, if watery, on the palate. Aroma is cold coffee (not necessarily bad) Flavor is a nice mix between coffee and barley with notes of chocolate. Nice and silky. A little weak though, especially for a 99 percentile beer. Just nothing amazing, especially when compared to its big brother "Devil Over a Barrel" piscator34 (1131), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Aromas of coffee, dark chocolate, and a bit of red wine. Flavors are of cold coffee, vanilla, oatmeal, and hints of caramel and black pepper. Starts with a heavy-silky body, but dries out nicely. Well done. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

This brew is a dark brown color with touches of ruby around the edges. Medium and rocky light brown head that diminishes steadily, and stringy lacing. Lots of coffee in the nose along with some roasted malt and chocolate. Medium-bodied with a nice roasty character and flavors of coffee and malt backed up by some hops and chocolate. The finish is dry and roasty with a lingering coffee aftertaste. Overall this is an enjoyable Porter that I hope to try again some day. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 11, 2008 This beer pours a deep black colour with a thin coffee coloured head. Intriquite lacing along the glass. Aromas of coffee or cappucino and heavily roasted coffee beans. Followed up by a certain degree of earthiness. Very rich and chocolatey, dark chocolate, dirt and oak tastes. A wickedly smooth taste but an overwhelming flavor that lingers on your palate for quite some time. pnista (1008), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 4, 2008 Thanks for sharing Yaniv! Very dark brown to black wit ha dark tan head. Big coffee flavor. A bit older and acrider, but still nice and sweet with some chocolate. Smooth and creamy body, with small bubbles and a bit viscous. Big sweet malty chocolate over coffee and slight roasty bitterness. Lingering fruity spice and coffee roast. Not bad at all. A lot like Founders Breakfast stout, though the coffee is more acrid and the body a bit more drinkable. Rciesla (3750), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Lots of coffee, liquorish, roasted malt. Its creamy with a nice bitter finish. Oats and a fresh roast this is excellent. 4.0 then 4.3 OldMrCrow (1199), Seattle, Washington, USA

Pours a deep brown with a nice dark-tan head. Roasty, ashy aroma, some coffee, some smoke. Coffee milkshake flavor, again that ash but not overwhelmingly so, rich chocolate, malted milk, plenty of coffee.
Pretty good, but gimmicky (coffee milkshake overload).
