Bottled (thanks omhper!). Deep rubyish brown colour with small brown head. Aroma is strong smoke, alcohol, vanilla, wood and a real boost of coffee. Coffee in flavour along with vanilla, roasted malts and some mild hoppyness. Long coffeeish aftertaste. Brutal, different and pleasant.

Bottled, thanks to omhper. Black with a low brown head. Big coffee aroma with touches of oats, crackers and pepper in the aroma. Flavour is clearly dominated of coffee, dark chocolate and dark fudge with grassy hops and crackers In the background. Black coffee, oatmeal and cocoa in the somewhat one-dimensional long aftertaste. Quite unrefined.

Bottled, thanks cquiroga! Pours oily dark black without forming any head. Loads of coffee up front. Sweet and thick, very malty, very roasty with massive amount of coffee. Creamy thick mouthfeel, coffee bean bitter finish. Certainly not shy, hardly refined. More a smack in the face of coffee. Certainly more interesting than balanced.

Bottle pours black with no head, just a small surface ring. You can get a head out of this by spinning the beer around in a tulip. It then produces a nice milk chocolate head that leaves lace spots. The aroma is very roasted, almost charred, camp fire smoke, tobacco shop, bitter coffee, and bitter chocolate. The flavor is coffee like, molasses, lactic, faint ale fruit characteristics, and obvious bitter chocolate. The palate is velvet rich and coating. There seems to be a lingering bitterness that does not distract - I am a coffee lover too. More oatmeal characteristics as it warms. Drink this cold to start, and take your time - as it warms you get so much more... This is very good.

Bottle from Rileys. Pours a deep dark black with a very obvious aroma of roasted malts rising up outta’ the glass. Nice dark brown head that left a "got chocolate milk" mustache. Pretty complex, I mean, lets not kid each other, the deep roasted malts were clearly the winner here but the chocolate was also there. A nice beer and thick to boot.

Bottled. Somehow, I got a weird oat and buttery funk on the aroma in this beer that didn’t really please my nose. Flavor, on the other hand, was a real knock up in my rating. Still, silky pour with no head and barely any bubbles. Roasty milk chocolate aroma with lots of coffee and cream. Chewy palate that coats the tongue with malty mocha goodness and a lasting oatmeal presence with substantial hops to balance it out. Great mouthfeel!

Pours black, black, black with a dense HUGE head and cascades down into the body like Guinness, then lies still. Aromas of coffee are powerful. Maybe a little too much, but still delightful. Intense flavors of coffee, chocolate malts with just enough hops. Thick and rich is an understatement. This is like drinking a milkshake in a pint glass. Leaves you wanting another. This is one outstanding brew! Right up there with Founders Breakfast Stout as far as quality for the flavor profile. Serving type: on-tap

Courtesy of Capt Cougar. Poured an opague black body with a small tan head. Aroma is very fresh coffee with some chocolate and mild cookie dough present. Flavors are also uber fresh coffee with some nice, not overly bitter hops in the finish.
