Poured opaque black with a slight tinge of amber and a thin tan head rimming the glass. Aroma primarily of fresh coffee. Taste is of coffee (not very roasty). The finish is crisp and dry, in fact it has a very woody dry mouth feel. Very nice porter. I enjoyed it. heemer77 (4304), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 23, 2008 Thanks a lot for the bottle, Weepie. Black body with a tiny trace of ruby at the edge, but that is a narrow part of my tulip glass. A light brown head is fairly dense and faded to a thin covering, but stayed around. The aroma is peanut butter with some good milk chocolate. This also reminds me of a walk in humidor with it’s nice tobacco notes. The taste is lightly roasted coffee with some creamy balance. There is some dark chocolate and a little bit of bread crust. Nicely made and fairly well balanced. While you can tell this is a big beer, I would not have guessed the abv to be this high. Another winner from Tyranea and a fine choice for rating 3,000. henrikb (1303), Aarhus, Denmark

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 21, 2008 12 oz bottle, bottling date 02FEB07, courtesy of Soonah, who is da MAN. Part of the "BREWERS GONE WILD!" series, which always evokes images of men in breweries lifting their shirts and howling for a camera... LOL. Anyway, pours black with a brown head. Massive, slightly burnt, fresh ground coffee bean nose, chocolaty with something like a chocolate chip cookie dough aroma. Sweet coffee flavors, like someone put about a teaspoon too much sugar into your cuppa joe (at least for my coffee). Roasty and chocolaty, a hint of dough. Silky mouthfeel, just slightly more than medium body. Rich, but easy to drink. Sweetness hangs with you through the finish. Nice! madcow75 (425), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 20, 2008 Bottle. Pours black with very little light brown to no head. Aroma is big time fresh coffee grounds, a little hint of molasses. Taste big on the coffee, but more chocolate comes forward in the taste. Silky smooth, gets a little chalky as it warms. Great brew for the coffee lover. mabel (2612), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Coffee hints and sweet roasted malt aroma. Dark black brown body with a quick foamy tan head. A little boozy, flavour is sweet dark roasty malt and a bit of fruit notes. Medium-full body. Nice but bitterness could be smoother. matt7215 (971), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 14, 2008 Poured a semi-viscous dark brown with virtually no head. A tight, thin ring of lacing maintained for a while with spots of lacing. The aroma was baking chocolate, light smoke, some coffee and even some earthy dryness, perhaps it was the oatmeal? The flavor had a pronounced lean towards the dry oatmeal and coffee, with the chocolate popping in occassionally to say hi. The mouthfeel was nice enough but overall this beer doesn’t keep pace with something like Breakfast Stout. Above average, not great.
