Aroma is smooth coffee and relatively strong on milk chocolate; some underlying roasted malt aroma as well...damn fine nose! Flavor is roasted coffee (not burnt), chocolate, some brown sugar, and a bit of dark fruit near the end. The finish is somewhat bitter, but not overly so. Extremely easy to drink and smooth on the palate. Couldn’t help but think that this acted like a ’light’ imperial stout. Great first experience with Tyranena Brewing! railcat1 (582), Orlando, Florida, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 9, 2007 Medium statured head, retention is good with solid lacing. An almost black brew, ruby edging. Nose is big coffee, roast and chocolate. Body is med/full, oily, coating and silky on the palate, very nice mouthfeel. Flavors follow suit with the aroma and are very well balanced. Some berryish notes evolve as it warms. Dry, roasty finish with an aspiriny bite. Another fine product form the folks at Tyranena. Thanks for sharing eaglefan! Thanks to CaptainCougar for hooking me up with a bottle also! Thanks Tom! eaglefan538 (2369), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Dec 8, 2007 Bottle from Bockyhorsey. Pour was full deep black-brown, very nice slowly developing head settled to the top, nice in size, great retention, wonderful lacing. The aroma was a full and robust coffee with some supporting chocolate, dry roastiness. The flavor was outstanding, top notch among its coffee stout or porter peers, nearly perfect coffee flavors melded with a light chocolate underneath, very detectable dry oatmeal too with some breadiness underneath. The mouthfeel was incredible, silky smooth, wonderful dryness to make this one of the best balanced full coffee brews I’ve had, the farthest thing from sticky, yet a bold brew. Great job, Tyranena, and a super duper thanks to Bill and Wendy for this selection, simply outstanding! DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 26, 2007 12-oz bottle received via trade with jrob_21. Pours opaque like coffee left in a heated pot for days but with a thinner consistency, small, fizzy, dark brown head, diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (dark roasted coffee, nutty, bread), light hops (grass), average yeast (leather) with notes of tar, charcoal, and fresh dark roasted coffee beans. Full bodied, silky texture, average carbonation, probably subdued somewhat by the silky texture, finish is creamy with a tinge of bitterness. Long duration yet without the coffee breath that would accompany an equally strong cup of coffee, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness, finishes a tad dry and roasted. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 22, 2007 12oz from pantanap - thanks, Kan! A nice goopy looking pour, minimal head and carbonation (except for traces of cappuccino lacing). A full aroma, with lots of bready and chocolate notes in with the coffee. The taste is far smoother and creamier (oatmeal, baby!) than some of the more aggressive coffee brews. A lovely, near-sweet flavor with a tad of vanilla is detectable and adds balance to the robust beer. Another excellent entry in the Brewers Gone Wild series! bu11zeye (5510), Frisco, Texas, USA

Aroma of strong coffee beans, roastiness, and hint of burnt. Flavor of expresso and roasted malt. The coffee characteristics are bit overdone.
