Aroma of sweet roasted coffee malts and a bit of baking chocolate. Taste is smooth and creamy rich coffee flavor with small hints of oats and chocolaty malts. Like a lighter version of Breakfast Stout or Jah-va Stout as far as the taste goes. Very nice.

Coffee, more like coffe grounds, Oat is obvious, and together I get a chocolate malt ball type scent. Clean orangy dark brown color, little to no head, just a small ring. Minor lace. Bitter coffee flavor, hints of grape and vine. Little soapiness. Get a little heat. Thick body, creamy oily smooth mouthfeel, bitterdry finish, Tasty brew. Great one to sniff and I never got tired of doing so. Well done and worth seeking out. pantanap (1375), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Apr 19, 2007 Damn near black pour, very thick, with a slight tan head. Lots of toffee and coffee beans in the aroma…mmm. Rich, full bodied and creamy, velvety on the tongue. Lots of coffee flavor balances with burnt malts, chocolate and toffee. Some sweetness, but well balanced. This beer is damn near perfect. Thanks Jeff! kramer (2527), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 17, 2007 12 oz bottle, via Monger. Pours a very dark brown colored body with minimal light passing through the edges. Small brown foamy head ran to a thin ring. The aroma is of heavily roasted coffee, bitter chocolate, burnt malt, oats, chalk, and a hint of alcohol. Kinda like fresh espresso grounds. The coffee, roast, and oatmeal really work well together. Aggressive moderately bitter espresso smoothed out with the oats finishing with a slight burnt ashiness and a touch of sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with a smooth velvety texture and light fine carbonation. This was very nice. Similar in alot of ways to Meantime Coffee. Coffee first, then beer second. Coffee flavour with parsley and some sweeter notes. Soft and smooth and clean mouthfeel with medium, near full body. The lingering aftertaste consist of dark malt and burned coffee. This is a very nice beer, but mostly a mind blowing coffee bomb.
