Nose of black malt, coffee, roasted malt, sweet caramel, cream. Initial taste is semi-sweet chocolate, creamy, oatmeal, coffee. Body is slight watery drowning out the flavor, flavor is to me is mild. Palate duration is average. Decent head retention with spot lacing. Overall a good porter and very drinkable. BVery (563), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA

Flavour carries dark roast coffee and chocolate maltiness, a creamy body with a light charred bitterness in the finish.

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 14, 2009 Bottle. Pours very dark with a small tan head. Nose of coffee, with some sweet malt notes mixed in. Taste is very roasty, again lots of coffee, some chocolate. Oatmeal isn’t really present in the taste, but helps to beef up the body and reduce the bitterness. Very nice full body, smooth finish. Overall, an excellent beer. daknole (3027), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 13, 2009 Bottle. Black pour with a very small tan head that mainly sticks around at the edges. Armoa is full blast coffee. Some notes of chocolate and molasses are there, but the coffee leads by far. Flavor has some great coffee notes, but not in an overbearing fashion at all. Flavor introduces more chocolate than the nose and the oatmeal gives it a silky smoothness that all porters wish they had! Really a high quality beer. I would like more of this!! Aroma of Coffee filled my nose, Yup that about it.
The flavor of coffee is very dominant in this one. The oatmeal helps tame the bitterness and ad’s some sweetness to it. The mouthfeel is topnotch, nice and thick what I expect in a Porter.
A great drinking porter, I enjoyed it a lot. I would gladly drink it again If I could get it
