Ungstrup (11692), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 22, 2007 Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is very sweet with notes of over ripe fruits and caramel. The flavor is a bit oxidized with strong notes of over ripe fruits and caramel on a very sweet back ground. Thanks to Theis. omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Oct 20, 2008 Bottled. Nut brown, minimal head. Caramelly nose with vinous port-like notes and tart lingonberries. Sweetish and woody. Vastly malty with compact mouthfeel. Vinous, fruity and intense with a freshening woody acidity. More reminiscent to an English old ale than any lager in the world. yespr (7779), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 3, 2008 33 cL bottle at the brewpub. Pours golden amber and hazy with a lacing tan head. Berry citric aroma, quite inviting. Full bodied. Flavour is mild citric to berry fruity with a mild acidic touch. Dry wooden barrel note. Finish is a mix of barrel and berry fruity flavours with notes of overripe fruit. Solid, smooth and nice. oh6gdx (6459), Vaasa, Finland Jul 2, 2008 Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is leather, some chocolate and sweet malts. Flavour is very sweet plummy malts along with mild chocolate, spices and also the alcohol, which fits this beer perfect. Raisins in the finish. As it warms up also some notes of honey become evident. Emil (6077), Copenhagen, Denmark Jul 22, 2007 Bottle. A beer with a plato of 33! That reminds me of one of my favorit beers from Heidelberg Germany, the legendary Vetter 33, wich we can also get on tap at Plan B here in Copenhagen. The Vetter 33 is the coniac of beer, this is nothing like that.
It´s a red brown beer with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet caramel malt, dark fruits, and then it´s a bit oxidized, the taste is very sweet caramel malt, dark fruits and rye bread, it´s oxidized and a bit sour. Medium to full body with a very sweet light alcoholic finish.
