More like an belgian abbey ale with all those fruitnotes, caramel, dried berries, sweetness and heavy alcohol percentage. Good surprise, Bjarne!

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 29, 2009 odd beer dragged back to the states by rustychiles. bb3/31/10 tasted 9/27/9.
pours thick and viscous with impending doom.... nice dark mahogany color topped by a teenie tan head.
it has a nice bone warming aroma... malty and sweet, raisins, grain, piloncilla, chocolate and some spice.
ick, the palate is syrupy and terribly sweet with nowhere near enough tartness to help out (i guess that helps the alcohol go unnoticed). it is raisin-y and raisin-y tart... but only mildly. it combines with the characteristics from the aroma with grainy bitterness to make a very unbalanced sugary brute.
thick sluggish body... i can’t get more than a few sips down. 6/4/5/2/12/2.9 Lubiere (4552), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

In aroma, sweet fruits, prunes, maraschino cherries, vanilla extract and nice hops. In mouth, a vinous sweet ale with oily mouthfeel, licorice, light acidulated notes, rich and smooth, porto-like. BB 10 2008. Tasted Nov. 21 2009, with MartinT. Merci Martin! rozsoma (60), Győr, Hungary
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Nov 17, 2009 It has a solid creamy beige head, murky and syrupy body and aroma filled with intensive fruitiness. Mostly blueberry, which reminds me to trappiste rochefort 10. In addition, plum and raisin notes in the aroma. Very sweet, oily flavour still with blueberries and a long aftertaste. Carbonation and alcohol was not felt at all. Commendable that it was served at room temperature. One of the best beers that i ever drink. nbutler11 (771), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

Pours caramel in color with a trim white head. Bizarre aroma. I have no idea what’s going on in this. Tastes of strawberry jam, caramelized bananas, crepe, and syruppy sweetness. Whoa. Certainly meant to share. rustychiles (1068), Mesa, Arizona, USA

Slight oxidized cardboard aroma meshes well with some dried fruit and a touch of liquorice. Viscous, almost clear chestnut with no top. Sweet, cereal grain flavour with some cardboard and tons of dried fruit. Bitterness is good and comes in after the sweet, providing some necessary balance. Excellent oily feel with carbonation that plays off the bitterness in the finish.
