Cool looking flip top bottle purchased from Beer World of Largo that pours a solid clear amber color with a tan head. The aroma is light with a mixture of varying degrees of roasted malts. The taste starts with roasty malts and slightly astringency and then picks up a hint of fruitiness for a moment. The flavors are decidedly smooth and blended. Actually there’s a medley of fruit notes toward the finish and lightly roasted to Munich type malts surface to add a bit more complexity.

7/13/2007: Uerige Alt is hazy and honey-colored. There is an off-white head the fades away and leaves a thin veil and some scattered lacing. The aroma is dry and floral with notes of bread, fruit (i.e. apples), and maybe even a hint of oxidation. The flavor has some pale and lightly toasted maltiness, a hint of butter (only noticed this in the first taste), and a mild to moderate bitterness. The finish is a bit dry and tastes like herbal tea. There is also a strong orange peel flavor in the finish and aftertaste. This beer has a medium body and is very smooth on the palate. Uerige Alt is decent overall, but I prefer a bit more malt and dark malt complexities when it comes to Altbier. Actually, this beer tastes a lot like an ESB...

Bottle. A ruby beer with a off-white head. The aroma is of caramel malt, cookies and grass, so is the taste, bitter. Medium body with a thin dry finish.

Bottle. Pours rusty brown red with a nice ivory head. The aroma is malty with some caramel and quite a bit of fruit (mango, pear, plum, peach), with some herbal hops, too. The flavor isn’t as rich as the nose. Dusty, papery hops start up front and work toward a reasonable toasty finish. Dry aftertaste. Ok, but nothing too great.

Bottled. Amber coloured. Unclear. Light brown head. Sweet and fruity aroma with some light herbal notes. Flavour is full of ryebread and sweetness. Has some grainy and grassy notes. Medium bodied. Is dry. Quite bitter and sweet in the end.
