| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 21, 2007 Aroma is malt, fruit and roasted grains. The body is a muddy orange/orange brown and holds a diminishing tan head. Fairly still carbonation wise. The fore is malt, fruit, very faint spice, hints of rye bread and caramel. The finish is mostly malt and caramel. A bit ho-hum in my opinion. Indra (2036), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 13, 2007 330ml bottle from 11/06. Grainy, dark, toasty and lightly sweet malt aroma combined with touches of spice, pepper, tea and old tobacco leaves in the background. Translucent dark coppery color with a very fine head. Darkly toasty and grainy malt flavors combined with earthy, lightly spicy, herbal and leafy hop tones, leaving a moderate amount of bitterness and hints of licorice behind. Clean and finely effervescent on the palate with a light-medium body. Interesting and tasty. tipsytoad (84), Jersey
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 8, 2007 From the wood at their tap in Dusseldorf. Quite dark, bitter and fruity, very refreshing. This beer just gets better the more you drink - the bitterness can be quite noticable at first but as you get used to it the palate recognises the other complexities present in the beer. Slightly spicy, malty and roasted. V good. nearbeer (1860), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 5, 2007 Updated: Jan 31, 2009330 ml, says bottled on 25 11 (maybe 2006?). Hazy brown, dirty copper color with very small head that has nice staying power. Aroma is raisins, hopped chocolate, pears and apples. Initial flavor is full and similar to aroma, but surprisingly dry and bitterish-cardboard finish, unlike the aroma leads you to believe. Lots of hops, but more flavor than your typical APA or IPA. Pretty good for 4.5% abv (that’s what the bottle says). Fukito (604), Buenos Aires, Argentina
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 31, 2007 Tap at Uerige, march 07. Beatifull, shinny, clear copper color with a nice, creamy and compact white head that lasts the whole half pint. Aroma is of dried fruits, some caramel and a slight toasted touch. Very nice. Tastes fruity, toasty, with a nice malt backbone that supports the spicy hops prescence upfront. Bittersweet, exquisite equilibrium. Mild. MF is medium, dry, bright, lingering aftertaste and vastly drinkable and moreish. Excellent complex and umpretentious beer, that you will want to drink copious amounts of. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 31, 2007 Bottle for Issac Newtons. Nice flip top bottle !!! Murky Copper pour with moderate head. I did not notice much of an aroma a mild hoppiness and mild sweetness that was it. The taste was odd Pepper (like table pepper not hot pepper) Mild malty taste blended rather well. This was a good odd beer.
