Pours a brown-ish color, with a medium head. The smell is slightly funky, and I can’t place it very well.. Leather, maybe? The flavor makes less of an impression than the smell. It’s dry overall, but doesn’t have a very powerful flavor at all. Mouthfeel is slightly watery, and the finish is dry. I’m not entirely impressed by this one, but the flip-top bottle is cool as heck.

courtesy of Laurent Mousson - clear amber colour with a fine beige head and a nice lace; peppery and earthy aroma, light notes of cherry in the background; some tartness, medium-bodied, slightly oily and with a solid bitterness; very dry fruity and nutty finish - this is a damned good altbier !

Swing-top bottle that gives a shot and smoke when opened. Light yellow, creamy head over an orange coloured head. Plain hoppy to the nose. Has got some sweet caramel quality and a touch of lightly honeyed malt. Dry finish with a bitter touch at the end (Sampled at The St Albans Beer Festival, 28.09.2006).

Quickly becoming a fan of this brewer. Aroma of leather and hints of grass with malty bitterness. Flavor is good without being overly bitter. A great session beer.

Gravity - Red copper body with a creamy off white head not lasting; Very elegant nose with a great balance of noble hop and malt with the malt aromas on the strong side; Full and bitter body with a superb balance; Long evolving finish lasting forever, very balanced aromas and feel. Great beer!..........Bottle (6-4-5-3-14=3.2) - Dark amber to brown body, thick off-white head, lacing; Malty bitter and caramel notes in nose; Bitter to harsh, thin body; Quite long bitter caramel like finish, watery textured. Generally quite unbalanced.

Bottle. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate caramel malty smoke aroma. Light to medium bosy with a slick texture. Medium balanced bittersweet flavor with a medium bitter finish of moderate duration. Interesting drinkable beer.
