Gravity - Red copper body with a creamy off white head not lasting; Very elegant nose with a great balance of noble hop and malt with the malt aromas on the strong side; Full and bitter body with a superb balance; Long evolving finish lasting forever, very balanced aromas and feel. Great beer!..........Bottle (6-4-5-3-14=3.2) - Dark amber to brown body, thick off-white head, lacing; Malty bitter and caramel notes in nose; Bitter to harsh, thin body; Quite long bitter caramel like finish, watery textured. Generally quite unbalanced.

Bottle. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate caramel malty smoke aroma. Light to medium bosy with a slick texture. Medium balanced bittersweet flavor with a medium bitter finish of moderate duration. Interesting drinkable beer.

Cloudy amber pour. Very light tan head that was small and didn’t last long. Sweet aroma. Caramel. The flavor was different - didn’t expect it. Hints of smoke - burnt wood chips, ash - roasted chicken. Then hop bitterness. Felt thin going in but after a swallow it feels waxy on the tongue. Bottle is cool. Love the swing top.

Bottle. Pours a decent mahogany with a nice head and lacing. Smells of sour strawberries. Flavor is a patch of dirt and fruit intertwined amongst copper wiring. Thin palate. Very bitter and caramel-like flavor. Interesting. Not sure if I would want another, but I can’t say I would refuse one.

Swingtop. Aroma grassy and caramel. Poured an off brown with a thin cap. Flavor was good caramel and bitter hops. Palate was ok with a light astringency though. Overall I liked it and would consider this an easy choice to drink everyday.

Bottle from Bello Vino in Ann Arbor. Slightly hazy burnt copper colour with a large off-white head that recedes fairly rapidly. Aroma - wow, really interesting. Definately some caramel and malt, some herbal/grassy notes, and a faint medicinal tinge. Flavour is quite robust, especially for a 4.5% beer - notes of wood, citrus, peat, smoke and a long, bitter finish. Didn’t kick my ass like their Doppel Sticke, but still a really solid and unique beer.

Pure, rocky/mountain malt, cake, shoe leather aroma. Near opaque sienna brown beer with bubble layer/rim. Grains and pure brewing, clean endless fields, robust caramel. Great flavor I’m having difficulty describ ing well. Robust palate, natural, decent malt finish. Nothing to knock you in the face about this beer, but everything is right about it, very sessionable, very nice and refined.

really cool swing-top 330ml bottle. Slightly hazy amber-tinged gold, with a large fluffy lasting white head. Nice caramel malt, some yeast and a light hint of chocolate, some raisins, prunes and alcohol. Taste is similar, quite a bit grainier than I thought it would be, lightly roasty, tangy and nutty, long nutty/bitter aftertaste. Slightly thin body, nice and oily, very light carbonation - quite nice, would like a little more roast to it.
