Jun 21, 2007 Murky brownish pour with frothy off-white head is fairly transparent. Palate is a little thin, although with nice carbonation and texture. Flavor is one of the most unique I’ve experienced: chewy malty start has a yeasty funk too it before a large amount of European hops dry it out. An engrossing quality takes over as the brew is enjoyed and the comparison to a barleywine is apt. Worth hunting out for it uniqueness.

Jun 19, 2007 Cool flip top bottle looks rather gothic. Code 0509. Pours clear orange brown. Nose is abundant sweet malt cookie, bread, licorice, and alcohol .. nice. Sweet carmel/toffee flavors are contrasted with the tar/pine and alcohol. I’m enjoying this.

Jun 18, 2007 Bottle. Hazy copper color with a medium head. Aroma of burnt caramel and grass. Taste was caramel, raisins, toffee, and just a bit of sour malt vinegar. Heavy bodied. A little warm. Pretty nice.

Jun 17, 2007 bottle, thanks holdenn for the sample. pours murky brown with off white head. nose of english toffee, bread, nuts, and wet grains. flavor is sweet, nutty, bready, raisins, caramally. alcohol is well hidden. a tasty beer but it just doesn’t interest me.

Jun 13, 2007 Bottle from Kingdom Liquors Brandon, Fl. Pours a clear dark amber with a small long lasting light tan head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel, a touch of roasted malt, and light spicy hops. Taste is very bitter up front then lends way to sweet caramel, dark fruit, and light spicy german hops. Medium full mouthfeel with a solid bitterness and slight alcohol warmth. Different but very good.

Jun 7, 2007 Pours dark amber with a tan head. Aroma of various dark fruits along with a bit of secondary hop aromas. Flavor of brown sugar, bready malts, herbs, and alcohol toward the finish. Nice thick brew. Too bad this costs so much.

Jun 7, 2007 The aroma is sweet with plums, prunes, raisins, earth, herbal hops, rubber, and yeast. The appearance is maroon/brown with a small but persistent head. The flavor is acidic with an astringent bitterness and a mishmash of dark fruit flavor along with earth, butterscotch, and paper. The palate is thick and smooth and probably the bes thing about this beer. At first I thought the alcohol was well hidden but it does develop and overpower especially towards the finish. Overrated but it’s got a mighty nice bottle.

Jun 6, 2007 kkerarn you got it right by my taste!11.2oz flip-top bottle. Dark amber with a thin tan head. Malty aroma with some brown sugar, caramel and hops. Some malty sweetness initially, but quickly gives way to floral hops along with some herbs, peat and alcohol. Very unique.
