yobdoog (1426), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Sep 9, 2007 Nice brown color, not much head. Sweet malt aroma, mild. Much better than I expected to be honest. Was unprepared. Balanced hops with malt seetness. Not too complex just tasty. Reuse this one for homebrew. JamesD (192), Centreville, Virginia, USA Sep 3, 2007 This beer pours a very dark caramel color, with little head. The aroma is very prominently of malt. It tastes of malt with a smooth and creamy palate, with a little bite in the aftertaste from the hops. It’s odd that this beer seems to be malty, then bitter, instead of both simultaneously. A very good beer, definitely worth trying if you’re a fan of German styles. Prost! kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Updated: Jan 17, 2009

MoDog (909), Griffith, Indiana, USA Aug 30, 2007 Poured from a 11.2oz swing-top bottle, and served in a shaker. This beer poured a dark amber color with a foamy, light off-white head that slowly dissolved. A small amount of lace was left behind. The aroma of the beer was made up of sweet malts, grassy/floral hop notes, and also a bit of apple and dark fruits. The flavor included dark fruits, caramel malt, and just a touch of grassy hops. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied and slightly dry with a good dose of carbonation. This was not nearly as interesting as I was hoping that it would be. The flavor was actually a bit bland, but it was still enjoyable. Trappist (279), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Aug 25, 2007 Strong floral aroma upon opening the bottle. Floral taste follows through into a hoppy astrigent flavor. Deep rich amber color with thin white lacing on the glass. JAF737300 (791), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 23, 2007 Pours amber with notes of malt. The palate shows a nice medium of malt and hops with a crisp interesting finish. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA Aug 21, 2007 Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a small but lasting light tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of caramel, sweet malt, and floral hops. Taste is sweet caramel and a well balanced dose of hops. Medium mouthfeel. Very good. merlin48 (509), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA Aug 20, 2007 Swingtop bottle pours a clear copper body that supports a lush beige head. Mostly malt aroma with toffee and caramel, complimented by spicy and floral hops. Taste is a pleasant balance of caramel toasted malty sweetness and bitter hops for balance. The hops seem to have notes of soft fruit, florals and a vague earthiness. Really nice alt.
