Commercial Description:
Carnival comes but once a year - and you can only enjoy Sticke beer at Uerige twice a year. It contains more malt and hops and has a higher alcoholic content than normal Altbier. And our guests appreciate it! In earlier days it used to be whispered hand over mouth that Uerige was serving Sticke again because the master brewer had portioned the ingredients too generously. With today's fully-automated operation, this could not happen. So Sticke beer is brewed intentionally - and this certainly doesn't negatively effect either its quality or taste.

The two dates every year are always the same. The third Tuesday in January and October are the two Sticke days.

Interesting. Some lager type characteristics. Clean taste. Fresh earthy/piney hops. crisp finish. I’m not sure I like it, but it was a cool beer to try.

Light brown color with a water scent of faint malt. Bitter hop body that didn’t satisfy after the Doppel Sticke. Bitter finish.

Bottle shared with brewfiend at Cellars WIne & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a slightly cloudy copper brown with a thick and lumpy off-white head. Very nice lacing. Aromas of sweet malt, walnuts, some earth tones, caramel and a whiff of vanilla. Taste is smooth, lightly sweet with a bitter finish. The aftertaste reveals some citrus and pine grind. Those Germans know how to make excellent beer.

Reddish brown with white head. My first altbier. I’ll need to sample more to get a better feel of this style. Enjoyed it though.

[bottle] Murky brown appearance with a very minimal off-white head. Sweet caramel malt aroma. Nutty malt flavors, with more caramel/toffee sweetness. Very roasty finish, with a slick mouthfeel.

Minimal liight tannish head that dissipates quickly. Nice amber brown hue. Fruity and toffee is the aroma that stands out. Medium sweetness that is balanced nicely with medium bitterness. Full body with a nice creamy texture. Somewhat long bitterness in the finish.

Amber color with a small beige head. Aroma and flavor of caramel, toffee, raisons, figs and dark fruits. Has a little hop bitterness in the finish.
