Made a good appearnace, poured a amber hued brown with a fizzy, bubbly pale tannish head. Had a nice tasty aroma, raisins and dark fruits, a little citric, and a sweet bready maltiness with whiffs of alcohol. Good carbonation and a slick, smooth light bodied mouth feel, good drinkability. Very tasty, raisins and citric fruity, a little piney, a nice hop bite on the tongue, an underlining bready maltiness, a dry sour fruity finish with a lingering alcohol burn in the palate.

Probably wouldnt pick it up again, but certainly not bad., Just not a favorite style for me. beerguy101 (3869), Newark, California, USA

Small to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is caramel and earthy. A medium bodied altbier. Malts are caramel and sweet. Some floral and earthy flavors are balanced by a touch of spiciness and grassiness. Nice carbonation. Smooth taste with a nice dry finish. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 14, 2006 I’m pretty sure this is October 2005. Pours a deep amber color with a fairly thick white head. German hops are dominate and compliment an apple like malt aroma. I enjoy the flavor of this beer but it is not incredibly complex. Bitter german hops and a sweet malt backing make this easy to drink and thirst-quenching as water in hell. Solid offering. Fantomas23 (463), Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 11, 2006 When I popped the top on this one, it smelled like beer. Pretty straightforward stuff. The taste was nothing to write home about but did satisfy adequately for an Altbier. Amber hued, foamy head. Some sweetness and altogether easily drinkable.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 7, 2006 Bottled Jan 31, and it wasn’t 2006. I think this one might have passed. Copper body with almost no head. Aroma has malty notes of caramel, bread and also some grass. Not impressive at all though, seems timid. Flavor is even worse, flat, stale, just... blah. I’ll rerate it if I can find a fresh bottle, it’s probably pretty good. iratherbe (255), Marlton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 4, 2006 Gigantic foamy billowing head. The swing top actually popped and spritzed almost like champagne. Altbier? Seasonal? Hmm ... hops presence on the nose with a sly mix of sweeter malt. Good combo - almost like a solid IPA mixed with a top brown sweet ale. Sharp clear tawny hue. Fresh crisp finish. Cool sleek unique looking bottle. Enjoyable bier! | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 3, 2006 Light white head with a ruby body. Sweet aroma similar to the Stone Double Bastard. Hops and malts are very present in it. Sharp initial taste with a slight caramel flavoring. Some bitterness typical of German beers in the ending.
