Dry and dusty taste of wheat and barley with, oddly enough, a vague taste of bacon. Different, but pretty tasty. pivnizub (5002), Bochum, Porúří, Germany

Superbly rounded with a long, long hoppy aftertaste, caused by umbelled hops. Served only on two days a year. Worth a journey !

Chewy, woody bitterness with caramel layers and lots of earthiness. Things ease up a bit towards the finish, right when I want the intensity to increase. Sort of ashy-tasting, just like its younger brother. Solid, but unspectacular. I grasp what Uerige is aiming for, but I don’t think that this is the best the style can do - that’s Im Fuchschen.
