YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA Dec 20, 2004 Amber body with off-white head. Caramel, hops, some anise in the nose. Medium bodied with nice carbonation. Flavor was moderately sweet and pleasant. Probably one of the better alts I’ve had. obisbeer (558), Barcelona, Spain Dec 18, 2004 Clear light amber brown with thick off-white head. Light malt nose with faint hops. Rich mouthfeel with a sweet start and srying bitter finish. Rich malt flavor with cherry, hops, and vanilla. Really good, wow! motelpogo (4394), Plzen, Czech Republic Dec 12, 2004 bottled but alas seemed a bit stale. aroma of raisins and caramel. quite sudbued hop presence until a late green bitter flourish. a little heavy. eczematic’s homebrewed sticke was probably better HopsOrDie (687), New Lenox, Illinois, USA Dec 11, 2004 Here’s a winner. Pours a medium brown with a nice beige head. The aroma is huge of toasted bread and malt. In the flavor there is lots of bread and toasted malt flavor with balancing bitterness that tends to linger. Brodie (540), Blowing Rock, North Carolina, USA Dec 10, 2004 Spicy Spalt hop aroma, herbal and piney. Clear dark copper, thick beige head. Great balance of nutty malt and piney hops in the flavor. Lingering bitterness, with a slight hop-derived astringency. Medium-full body. A really nicely balanced German ale, very tasty. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Dec 7, 2004 Updated: Jul 12, 2005Deep amber-red color with a minimal off-white head, this has a nifty nutty sweet malt aroma with a healthy smattering of earthy hops thrown in. Solid roasted malt flavor, not real sweet, with a good hop counterbalance. Even better than their regular alt.

ericnixon (719), Northampton, Massachusetts, USA Dec 2, 2004 Heh, Grolsch-top bottle with a boring label. Dark reddish brown color with a nice malty aroma. The flavor was malty blending into hoppy. Syd (888), Waconia, Minnesota, USA Dec 2, 2004 Beautiful long neck flip top bottle pours a brown tan color with a small head and no residual lace. The aroma is serious malt sweetness. The flavor is drier than the aroma, with some good caramel flavors mixing with the hops as a balance. The palate is rich and almost "sticky". Overall, I could drink a lot of this.
