BeerGestapo (725), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 17, 2008 (GERMAN) Pours a hazy amber / brown color with a med-tan head. The aroma is of dry fruits, brown sugar, and pepper. Taste is kind of hoppy with a roasted walnut flavor !! The finish is dry and very drinkable, nice lacing too. I must say that i enjoyed this brew very much. :) BeerIsMyGod (12), USA Jul 17, 2008 initially, I got an nose of cherry, but it further developed into a bit of a fig aroma, with some hints of "other fruit" tartness. Upon an initial sip, fig definitely stands out as the dominant flavor. It a very good beer with deep, rich fruit flavors. I’m not quite sure what I was getting, but it was dark, rich, and bold. A very rich brew. kmweaver (2396), Sebastopol, California, USA Jul 8, 2008 11.2oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy, tea-brown color; huge, light-khaki head with good retention and glistening, creamy lacing; a great pour. Solid presence of candy sugar and soft brown sugar in the aroma, with a crisp mineral bitterness; clean, fresh nose. Medium mouthfeel: crisp upfront mineral / earthy hop character and a solid maltiness: candy sugar, breadiness, and tea; strikes a good balance between malt-forward and solid, crisp drinkability; a very pleasant example of the style. Medium finish: dry breadiness, toasted malts, and candy sugar; a touch of lingering sweetness and zesty minerals. zappafan99 (462), South Carolina, USA Jul 7, 2008 Taste 7/8. Looks: Dark red body with a white clinging head. Aroma: Sweet Malt, roast and straw. Taste: Spicy, sticky, light to medium body. Quite a lot of ingredient. Tasty. Full flavored and easy to drink. BückDich (4793), McCall, Idaho, USA Jul 4, 2008 Bottle: Pours a dark mahogany color with a light white head and nice bubbly lacing.
