Malts are caramel, bread and cookie dough (hint of cinamon). Fruityness in aroma and around the edges. Well hopped - warming and rounded (I think the Blimp City had a slightly "brighter" hop to it). Medium thick and very smooth. Now, I'd like to see this in a six pack - very easy drinking and well balanced. dkachur (2405), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 2, 2006 Updated: Aug 6, 2006An enjoyable alt, although the alcohol was a tad more noticeable than I would have preferred. Poured a nice clear orange-brown with a moderate head that laced quite well. Aroma was somewhat hoppy (not floral, though) with a buttery smell. Flavor was sweet (molasses or brown sugar works for me, I couldn’t place it on my own) with a nice hoppy finish. The mouthfeel is a little heavier than I expected but refreshing (low carbonation). August ’06 update: only available on-site in October and Jan or February, two times a year. Vac (2394), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 16, 2004 This alt pours with a clear amber body with a thin head and little lacing. The aroma is sweet and malty with a brown sugar note. Not much else to the aroma. The flavor is sweet and malty but with a big amount of bitter hops for an alt. There is also a slight touch of brown sugar. Medium bodied and smooth with a touch of dryness. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 9, 2004 The color of a dark penny with a sluggish head. The caramel malt is strong in the aroma, smells like it could be a little oxidized. There’s a hefty maltiness in the flavor and a decent bitterness in the finish. I’d really like to try this in Germany and see how it compares close to home. Boutip (2380), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 31, 2007 Bottle: Poured a flat deep brown color alt with a small foamy head with no lacing. Aroma of huge caramel malt with some sweetness. Taste is also dominated by some sweet malt with loads of caramel notes. Body is quite full with no real carbonation. Interesting and refreshing but nothing really earth shattering in here. Beerlando (2344), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 9, 2008 Draft at Redlight Redlight. Pours a hazy, dark, orange-amber color. A foamy, off-white head settles slowly, sticky bands of lacing remaining behind to coat the glass. Aromas include caramel, dried fig, raisin, and hints of strawberry and red apple. A decent helping of floral, earthy hops is there, lending balance to the nose. Flavors show more of the same, floral hops turning peppery and spicy, lending further bitterness and depth to the caramel and dried fruit notes. There might be a hint of candied nuts within, as well. The mouthfeel is substantial and moderately carbonated, finishing kind of dry and yeasty. This is a very nice Alt. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
