| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2009 Bottle; poured a dirty, muddy, murky, brown color with a big head. Took forever to finish the pour. Nice looking. Aroma of toasted bread, caramel, with some earth, fruit and yeast. Flavor had a much more pronounced herb and spice presence; the hops shine through nicely to compliment a rich caramel and bready presence. Palate was very nice, with a touch of softness. Really nice version of the style. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 13, 2007 7/13/2007: Uerige Alt is honey amber in color with a slightly more reddish tone than the <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/Beer/uerige-alt/7836/ Alt. This beer is pretty clear and has a thin off-white head that doesn’t last long. The aroma is rich and has caramelized malt and little bit of fruit (apple and something else). The flavor is also malty, but not overly sweet. The malt flavor in the Uerige Sticke is definitely darker tasting (not necessarily roasted; caramelized is probably most apropos) than the Uerige Alt. The malt is balanced by a reserved hop presence and bitterness level. There is also a little bit of fruit in the flavor that is difficult to describe (maybe dark berries?). The finish of this beer is also nicer than the Uergie Alt and the citrus peel afertaste isn’t quite as pungent. The body of this beer is medium and it feels a bit heavier in the mouth than the Uerige Alt. It is smooth on the palate. Uerige Sticke is a very drinkable Alt Bock and is pretty good overall.
0,33 L/11,2 fl. oz. flip-top bottle (Bottled on 25.11. 6% Alc./Vol. Code 12 25) from The Party Source. Rating #252 for this beer... Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 29, 2004 Clear, dark coppery color, 1/4" ring of dusted brown head. Aroma speaks of little at first, but squeaks up a bit to talk of coffee, cocoa, nuts, a glorious, dark-toned morass.
So, drink up! Ah, smoo-oo-ooth, with a deep, roasty, dark tinge on the palate. Delicate and delcicious, tangible touch on the tongue, great cocoa/coffee feel, that is so light, but so right! Tasty, tasty, tasty!
Niceness personified in this bottle! Hurray for the lucky pubfolk of Dusseldorf that get to enjoy this freshly flowing!
After my critical faculties have retired, it’s nothing but pure enjoyment, full-bodied,long-finish, but so perfectly smooth, I’m left uttering nothing but simple praise: Yu-umm, I’m saying, and wowwy-wow, wow!

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 12, 2004 Medium copperish color, thin head that faded fast. Aroma is faintly of wet buckwheat pancakes. Flavor is of moderate bitterness, but the hops provide no distinctive flavors. Malt seems a bit thin. It is an OK beer, but didn’t live up to the hype. Need to try on tap. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 9, 2004 I bought this because it;s a pretty cool bottle. This puppy is a little old. Bottled Sept of 01! Roasty caramel sweet malts with hints of mint, roastiness and metallic notes. Transparent amber color with an off-white head. Quite thin, roasty, and malty with coffee hints and some DMS to finish. A tad boozy... willblake (2184), Belcamp, Maryland, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 19, 2006 08.19.06 33cl bottle, bottled on 25.11.??, I’ll guess 2005, but they left off the year. At any rate, the date doesn’t really jive with the notion of this stuff coming out in January and October so I don’t know what to make of it.
<!-- p -->This is not the first I’ve had this beer; it’s become a regular in the rotation. I definitely prefer the stuff at a warmer temp, over 65F even, so I usually just chill it a bit and then let it sit in the glass for a while before drinking it. The color is a soft, dark, honey-amber with thick and lasting off-white head leaving classic lace. The aromas are addictive, concentrated, and bready with old grasses, peppery greenery (the stuff reminds me of shrubs and yardwork for some reason), and sourdough pancake batter, bubbly and raw. Herbal and spice notes leap to the fore with the first sip with white pepper, anise, and allspice. Smoothing out in the middle the beer introduces a toffee sweetness coating the mineral notes of a musty apple. There’s a mild nuttiness that pervades, but more nutty like toasted bread than any particular sort of nut. The eff is fine and adding to a creamy soft feel, rich and tending toward slick. The finish is long and bready with a fresh tang that kicks in the last. Really enjoyable stuff, plenty complex without going overboard in any arena. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 20, 2005 Clear, dark copper body with a grayish, tight silky head. Nice deep maltiness with aromas of toffee, caramelization and ginger bread. Deep earthy hops and notes of oak. Malt and hop combination gives the impression of an earthy single malt scotch. Fairly sweet but firmly bitter and well-balanced. This is really nice and a personal epiphany for the style. I’d be happy to drink this regularly.
