Commercial Description:
Carnival comes but once a year - and you can only enjoy Sticke beer at Uerige twice a year. It contains more malt and hops and has a higher alcoholic content than normal Altbier. And our guests appreciate it! In earlier days it used to be whispered hand over mouth that Uerige was serving Sticke again because the master brewer had portioned the ingredients too generously. With today's fully-automated operation, this could not happen. So Sticke beer is brewed intentionally - and this certainly doesn't negatively effect either its quality or taste.

The two dates every year are always the same. The third Tuesday in January and October are the two Sticke days.

Pours dark brown with a reddish tine. It has a tan rocky head that leaves quickly. Aroma is sweet and rich malt mixed with dark brown sugar. Starts out with a roasty rich toffee feel. It is rich and lighty syrupy. Finish is lightly spicy with a touch of sourness and anise. Very well done alt.

"Odd flip top shaped bottle 11.2 oz. In a big 22 oz shapely beerglass. Hazy lighter brown color. Farmy musty barnyard olfactory with a strong alky base aroma of caramel and sweet candy. Oooh, quite a strong initial alky experience. Rather nock you off your pleasant contentment feeling. Rather strong initially, did I say that already? Aroma gets more farmlike as the session continues. Definately a stronger beer but it becomes more acceptable as the session moves past the inception. inish is surprisingly acceptable for a stronger beer. leaves an overal good experience. Deep glowing brown color, almost cola-like with a minimal tan head that settles into an off white ring at the top of the glass. The aroma is like toasted mashmallows. Caramel flavor with just a touch of bitterness in the finish. Light bodied with a medium mouthfeel. An easy drinking brew.

11.2 oz. custom bottle. Pleasant, nutty, sweet aroma, some caramel and hazelnut with hints of creamy toffee, flowery, spicy hops and cookieish malts. Some vague fruits lurking in the background. Rusty dark orange color with a slight, fine head. Flavor depth is highly impressive, with plenty of toasty, succulent, sugary, bready malts up front and bright, tangy, salty, herbal, fruity, spicy bitterness underneath, intertwined with notes of butterscotch and leafy hops. Light, refreshing, peppery mouthfeel with a low level of effervescence, body is medium. Incredibly drinkable and a fine Alt.

11.2 ounce bottle from By The Bottle in Vancouver, WA--Poured a very dark amber body with a fluffy thin whitish head. Raisin, dark fruit, creamy, malty sweet, sticky sticke. Some brown sugar and fruity hops in the finish. Lots of caramel all the way through. Quite good.

Bottle: Cloudy brown with an off white head. Aroma, raisins, some sweet malts, caramel, very rich. Flavor, sweet caramel, brown sugar, some fruits, a floral character, and some spice. I really should drink this more often.
