Nov 2, 2005 Dark amber w/ a tight head that diminishes to a nice ring. Very nicely balanced flavor--a deep munich malt richness balanced w/ a flor nobel hop aroma and a good dash of bitterness. Delectably quaffable and an elegent example of the style. Neato bottle too.

Jun 26, 2009 Bottle, Wurstkuche. Pours amber-brown with a large white head. Aroma is very grassy and herbal, suggesting significant European hops (Saaz, Hallertau) in this brew. Flavor starts with herbs and earthiness upfront, moving nimbly towards a balanced mid-body of malt and dry bitterness. Finish leans dry and semisweet. A solid altbier.

Aug 21, 2007 Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a small but lasting light tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of caramel, sweet malt, and floral hops. Taste is sweet caramel and a well balanced dose of hops. Medium mouthfeel. Very good.

Feb 12, 2005 Medium brown with a touch of haze, beige creamy head, good lacing. Malt and maple, earthy with floral hopping. Nearly a chewey malt with an earthy floral taste. Rich and thick, very tasty!

Oct 16, 2007 2006? Pours a copper color with an off-white head. Aroma is of toasted malts, dark fruits, slight roasted malts, and molasses. Flavor is of toffee, caramel malts, slight toasted and roasted malts, molasses, and some dark fruits. I’m glad I came across this beer.

Dec 26, 2007 Pours a hazy light orange brown color with huge froathy billowing offwhite head. Aroma is earthy woodsy hops. Flavor is malty slightly bittersweet, earthy oaky hops, some doughiness, decently dry and hoppy bitter finish. Overall, complex yet simple beer, definitely worth a try.

May 21, 2006 Bigger, brawner version of the classic Dusseldorf altbier. Like alt, this beer has fantastic hop aroma, clean maltiness, and a zesty and snappy hop bite. Uerige Sticke pours to a beautiful, bright, deep copper color, with a thick white head, and a good carbonation. The nose on this beer is excellent, with lots of good herbal/grassy hop aromas, and aromas of toast and nuts. The palate is smooth and round, with clean, smooth toasty and nutty malt flavor. Uerige Sticke finishes with more smooth malt up front, then ends with a zesty burst of herbal/grassy hop bittereness that lingers. I love this beer style, and Uerige to me is the bench mark example of sticke and alt. A must try beer for anyone who loves altbier.

Jul 29, 2005 Slightly sweet, crackerjack aroma, soma caramel. Nice amber in color with a quick, fluffy white head. Caramel malts are playing nicely with classic, noble hops Finished fairly quickly with lingering hops. Thanks to bkelley for the brew!
