| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 26, 2005 Pours a dark copper with minimal head. Aroma is dry white wine, caramel, thickly malted, a nice stickiness to it, a little nutty I think similar to cashews. Caramel, slight nuttiness, bitter sting when first hits your tongue then spreads into a semi-sweet chocolate taste. Palate is kind of light with a subtle stickiness. Unique experience with a nice Alt. I wish I had a bigger bottle of this. JasonG (700), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 11, 2004 Here’s a winner. Pours a medium brown with a nice beige head. The aroma is huge of toasted bread and malt. In the flavor there is lots of bread and toasted malt flavor with balancing bitterness that tends to linger. haukur (684), Reykjavik, Iceland
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Oct 19, 2005 at the source from the barrell on the Sticke day!; I never knew Altbier could be so complex. Hoppy nose, with hint of caramel and smoke. Extremely complex palate, a lot of hops and malt, smooth mouthfeel with a kind of hoppy smokey finish. This was extremely good and enjoyed in a great atmosphere at the brewpub. Elwood (680), Leesburg, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 12, 2009 Serving: 330 ml bottle.
Appearance: Orange-brown with a large, rocky, off-white head. Great head retention.
Aroma: A little fruity from the hops, nuts and grain notes from the malt. Fairly mild overall.
Taste:Grainy with notes of caramel malt, light fruit notes, and perhaps a touch of wood.
Palate: Medium carbonation with a light, dry mouthfeel and a medium-short finish.
Overall: I was told this is pretty much a dead on alt. If so, I am a fan. I found this one to be quite drinkable and would definitely recommend giving it a go. jmuhops (663), Winchester, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 14, 2006 Pours red with a very small white head. Toasted malt and brown sugar aroma, with a touch of almonds. The toasted malt is found in the flavor behind some diacetyl. A light herbal hoppiness rounds out the taste. Good stuff. beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 16, 2006 Old notes from a tasting last year. Brown pour, decent head. Nutty malty aromas, and a bit doughy. Sweet malty flavors, some dough/bread, some nuts, some wood. Clean finish. Fairly enjoyable, and surprisingly bigger than I expected for an altbier.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 10, 2009 Pours a murky brown with a large, active off-white heat, which simmers down to a lasting film of bubbles and a network of lace. Aroma is faint, what’s there is resinous nuts, a bit of caramel. Flavor begins with resinous malts and hops bitterness, a lot of nuts and tea here. Some frutiness accompanies the alcohol warmth later on, but the beer remains lightly bitter throughout, with the nuts remaining on the linger. Warm on the palate, very soft and sudsy. Good, but missing the caramel that makes the ordinary Uerige alt such a wonderful sessionable malt bomb.
