Tasty spice and good bitterness. Nutty toasty and fruit worked nice. Somewhat dry and malty finish. This was a hard beer to track down and must have again. Thanks ClarkVV. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 21, 2004 After the Fort Wayne Ale Fest 2004, BigBadBear, Flemdawg, JSquire, Hotstuff, and Silphium came over to my place for a tasting. This was our tenth brew of the evening provided by Jim (Flemdawg). This brew poured a small sized head of fine to large sized mostly lasting bubbles. The body was a uncarbonated transparent brown color. The aroma was mildly vinous with a caramel malt brown beer scent to it. The mouth feel was vinous and strong from start to finish and especially so in the aftertaste. The flavors contained notes of caramel malt and brown malts. joss (3692), Garching b. München, Germany

Caramel malt, slightly bitter hops, bandage, and also earthy here as well. This was a rare treat. badgerben (3610), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 31, 2005 Dark brown color with a very thin head. Dry wheat aroma. Dry and dusty taste of wheat and barley with, oddly enough, a vague taste of bacon. Different, but pretty tasty.
