Commercial Description:
Carnival comes but once a year - and you can only enjoy Sticke beer at Uerige twice a year. It contains more malt and hops and has a higher alcoholic content than normal Altbier. And our guests appreciate it! In earlier days it used to be whispered hand over mouth that Uerige was serving Sticke again because the master brewer had portioned the ingredients too generously. With today's fully-automated operation, this could not happen. So Sticke beer is brewed intentionally - and this certainly doesn't negatively effect either its quality or taste.

The two dates every year are always the same. The third Tuesday in January and October are the two Sticke days.

Poured a golden brown color. Sweet and fruity with raisins dominating. Dry finish. This and the double sticke are nice beers.

Very drinkable, but in gulps owing to signfiicant carbonation. Good hop aroma, colour. Tasty spice and good bitterness. Nutty toasty and fruit worked nice. Somewhat dry and malty finish. This was a hard beer to track down and must have again. Thanks ClarkVV.

Bottle 330 ml (swing top)
Appearance: Clear black-tea amber like . Strong tanned creamy top. Good lace created 4-.
Nose :Clean, refreshing hop nose , clean sweet malts , softer aromas of mashed malt followed 7+.
Flavor/Palate : Big malty front but not heavy as you might expect , earthy- woody flavors followed. Midlle was sweet, caramel like. Sticky texture neatly worked with showing bittering hops. Late smooth gentle warmth of alcohol. Quality is apparent.

This altbier pours a deep brown color from a 330ml swing top bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is caramel and earthy. A medium bodied altbier. Malts are caramel and sweet. Some floral and earthy flavors are balanced by a touch of spiciness and grassiness. Nice carbonation. Smooth taste with a nice dry finish. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

After the Fort Wayne Ale Fest 2004, BigBadBear, Flemdawg, JSquire, Hotstuff, and Silphium came over to my place for a tasting. This was our tenth brew of the evening provided by Jim (Flemdawg). This brew poured a small sized head of fine to large sized mostly lasting bubbles. The body was a uncarbonated transparent brown color. The aroma was mildly vinous with a caramel malt brown beer scent to it. The mouth feel was vinous and strong from start to finish and especially so in the aftertaste. The flavors contained notes of caramel malt and brown malts.

Hazy amber, off-white lacing creamy head. Herbs (juniper) and licorice in the aroma. Smotth blend of roast, mineral notes, and raw herbal hops. Full body, mellow sparkling mouthfeel. Subtle juniper and licorice aftertaste. Thanks to Dortmunder for this speciality!

Cask at Piece brewery... Poured a copper color with a creamy tan head and nice lacing. Aroma of fruit, mainly banana, caramel malts, shampoo, and lots of grains. Caramel malt, slightly bitter hops, bandage, and also earthy here as well. This was a rare treat.

Dark brown color with a very thin head. Dry wheat aroma. Dry and dusty taste of wheat and barley with, oddly enough, a vague taste of bacon. Different, but pretty tasty.
