Commercial Description:
Carnival comes but once a year - and you can only enjoy Sticke beer at Uerige twice a year. It contains more malt and hops and has a higher alcoholic content than normal Altbier. And our guests appreciate it! In earlier days it used to be whispered hand over mouth that Uerige was serving Sticke again because the master brewer had portioned the ingredients too generously. With today's fully-automated operation, this could not happen. So Sticke beer is brewed intentionally - and this certainly doesn't negatively effect either its quality or taste.

The two dates every year are always the same. The third Tuesday in January and October are the two Sticke days.

Bottle. Had this a while back, am now updating my "rated" list. Poured a nut-brown, nutty pleasant aroma. Had a good head, and excellent flavour. Another very drinkable beer!

Bottle: Cloudy brown with an off white head. Aroma, raisins, some sweet malts, caramel, very rich. Flavor, sweet caramel, brown sugar, some fruits, a floral character, and some spice. I really should drink this more often.

wow, a very complex drink indeed. caramel and malty nose, malt & fruits flavor with a very complex semi-sweet tounge as it finished with a unique, sour twist in the finish that quickly dissapears with no aftertaste... it’s really strange, but this is a very, very well put together, unique drink.

Pours a murky light brown color with a large creamy beige head. Nose is massive amounts of toffee and brown sugar. Taste is the same with some candied apples on the back end. Very malty and delicious with a moderate mouth feel that is drinkable and good.

11.2 oz bottle. tawny chestnut color fills the glass. the brew is a little hazy, with an even caramel tone. well formed creamy light tan head. nose of soft sweetish grains. caramel and bread crust with a touch of honey and dried fruit. dry english style malts provide a fine earthy flavor. mild hop finish is crisp and clean. lasting piney taste stays on the tounge. yum

Pours a very murky brown in color. Very little head on the pour. Only a ring of froth around the edges. Smell is very caramel and port like. Age has done this beer wonders. Very creamy and very dark malts. Plenty of aged sherry like port in the flavor. This was a huge surprise. Very well done.

Swingtop bottle pours a clear copper body that supports a lush beige head. Mostly malt aroma with toffee and caramel, complimented by spicy and floral hops. Taste is a pleasant balance of caramel toasted malty sweetness and bitter hops for balance. The hops seem to have notes of soft fruit, florals and a vague earthiness. Really nice alt.

Pours a cloudy brown color with a sticky tan head that leaves plenty of lacing. Sticky(e) and thick sweet caramel and malts aroma. Pretty bitter and malty. Palate is thick and sticky. Creamy texture to it. This is like what a German IPA would taste like. The only bad thing about this beer is the price.
