Commercial Description:
Carnival comes but once a year - and you can only enjoy Sticke beer at Uerige twice a year. It contains more malt and hops and has a higher alcoholic content than normal Altbier. And our guests appreciate it! In earlier days it used to be whispered hand over mouth that Uerige was serving Sticke again because the master brewer had portioned the ingredients too generously. With today's fully-automated operation, this could not happen. So Sticke beer is brewed intentionally - and this certainly doesn't negatively effect either its quality or taste.

The two dates every year are always the same. The third Tuesday in January and October are the two Sticke days.

Cask at Piece brewery... Poured a copper color with a creamy tan head and nice lacing. Aroma of fruit, mainly banana, caramel malts, shampoo, and lots of grains. Caramel malt, slightly bitter hops, bandage, and also earthy here as well. This was a rare treat.

Bottle, goblet. Dough, cookie, nutty, bread. Solid German caramel malt base. Dry, floral hops. Very balanced, very pleasant. Intense amber hue with copper highlights. Smallish, white, foamy head. Moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter flavor becomes a moderately acidic, moderately bitter finish. Finishes spicy and dry. Medium body, smoothg texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: just incredibly drinkable. Almost exactly what I’ve been expecting from this style and never found before.

Draught. Clear, dark copper colour. Foamy, lacey head. Caramelly, slightly spicy nose. The taste is roastmalty, slightly sweet. Hints of vanilla. Ends in a spicy, bitter finish, which is quite lasting. Smooth mouthfeel, creamy texture. I absolutely love this beer.

Delicious. Dark red body with creamy, almost mousse-like head. Bitter but well balanced with an earthy malt flavor. Primo, man.

Beatiful brown, stumpy-bottomed bottle with flip-cap. Clear, copper-amber with a wispy head. Lightly caramel aroma with toasted butterscotch note and earthy malt complexity. Initailly clean, smooth and slightly metallic. Buttery, caramel note and a succinct of sweetness. As it warms, hops become apparent in a fragrant, slightly bittering effect, resulting in a rounded, delightful beer. cheers

Bottle. Sweet dried cherry/raisin and bread aroma. Orange brown color with slight head. A strong buttered bread flavor throughout - hint of raisin, orange peel and walnut. End taste of hops and nuts. Light acidity. Complex and well blended.

Bottled on 25.10. Code 11 26

I have to admit, I’m a bit of a "bottle whore" and that’s what attracted me to this beer... a well crafted and unique swing-top with sparse labels and a healthy dose of raised lettering in the glass, including a line of braille at the bottom! Excellent!

Appearance was an almost-mahogany body, slightly hazed with a creamy, little head. Aromas were well malted with raisin, honey & caramel over grains and earthiness... an overall impression of a sweet breakfast cereal. Nicely balanced flavors with sweet malts proving dominance. Smooth and slightly thick on the tongue with a touch of alcohol at the end that made me smile. Quite delicious. Hoping to find a bigger bottle.
