Lesson learned: Never order a Weizen in an Altbier pub. Beer was a slightly hazy and sickly pale yellow with thin, white head. Faint, lemony and grainy nose. Not much flavor, a low citric tartness and faint bitterness but otherwise pretty bland. Watery. Sorry, but its alleged Altbier leanings do not save it from being a shabby wheat beer. Hate to give an Uerige beer such a low score, but this is an honest rating. Rastacouere (5564), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 30, 2007 Classic cloudy golden pour topped by a fading, fizzy white head. Rather straightforward wheat nose without much backup. A certain banana tartness develops with crème fraîche and baking powder undertones, but the ensemble is not that pleasant as it greatly lacks crispness. Little phenols nor yeast character. Creamy palate as the foaminess dies off, rather dry, akin to banana chips. Quite simple weizen. joergen (8634), Frederiksberg, Denmark

I couldn’t really get a good hang of this, tasted a bit raw with quite little weizenlike qualities. A bit yeasty, soury and some hoppiness. NoiZe (1372), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Apr 24, 2007 Golden body with a small white big bubbled head; Very Alt like nose, with the weizen notes making it unclear; Medium sized soft carbonation on very innocent (boring) body thin and slightly bitter; Medium long thin finish with malty bitterness and malty nutty aromas. Very strange beer. Papsoe (15107), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 19, 2007 (Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of MoritzF. Slightly hazy golden with a white head. Acidic, floral aroma. Medium body, sweetish malty with an amazing arsenal of fruit notes - tropical ones in particular. No yeastiness, no bitterness but quite interesting and very untraditional for Germany. 090407 Ungstrup (15382), Frederiksberg, Denmark

The aroma is sweet malty with fruity notes of peaches, combined with light spicy notes. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of peaches and lycee fruit. More special than good.
