beerbill (1321), Laurel, New York, USA Oct 11, 2008 12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with bitbucket. Pours a hazy amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted through to the end of the glass and left lace all the way to the end that held up very nicely. Pleasant aroma of malt, hops, and some faint nuttiness. The flavor is malt up front with some mild hops bitterness towards the finish. Some dryness at the finish as well. Pretty standard fair for an APA but enjoyable nonetheless. PilsnerPeter (1477), Flushing, New York, USA Sep 16, 2008 Bottle (Thanks to my sister who got a bottle from Utah, which coincidently was the same week they legally began distributing in NY. Funny and true story!) Pours a deep rusty copper with near perfect clarity and a thin off white head. The aroma is Fresh toasted malts with a nutty hint and some mild caramel. The hops are very subdued, just giving an extremely subtle citrus note. Has a light feel on the palate, with a malt dominated flavor. Lots of toasted pale malts, a hint of mild caramel and a nutty character comes through when it warms. The hops are detectable, however they’re very subdued and seem restrained, only offering an orange note in the background. Not bad, it just needs more hop character. evilsoc (169), Wales Aug 22, 2008 Amber beer with attractive looking creamy to tan head. Aromas promising maltiness and tropical and slightly piney hops. Beautiful balance of caramelised malt and reassuring fruit/piney hops. An APA for any weather maybe. gws57 (995), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Aug 17, 2008 Found this one bottled at a grocery store in Syracuse, Utah. Hazy, deep amber pour with a thick tan head, citrusy hope, pineapple nose, good hoppy character with a bit of smoke and bitter chocolate, pretty nice. Arnie (272), Chicagoland, IL, Illinois, USA Aug 15, 2008 Bottled, thanks gws57! A crisp hoppy nose, decent hops and mild malt on palatte. Refreshing, nicely sippable.
