A smallish head has an orange tint and good retention. Thick sticky lacing. Caramel leads the flavor. Some pepper and bread. The hops provide some citrus but are not assertive. Lightly bitter malt flavors increase as the beer warms. Finish is thin and some rye finishes the glass. This is a great Pale Ale for a drinker with a sweet tooth (like me). I liked it. Aroma is citrus and malt. Taste is malty with a touch of hops. Dry finish. BOLTZ7555 (1090), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 11, 2009 Deep copper pour with a crimson hue and small ivory head that produces rings of lacing. Aroma is virtually non-existent and what is evident is dull citrus and a lot of caramel malt. Flavor isn’t at all "bright" and is instead muddled. Sweeter than it should be. Very adequate pale ale in all respects. Not as good as Squatter’s Full Suspension - but better than most ales. hayduke (1652), Eureka, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 30, 2009 From a 12 oz bottle this poured a very clear gold with a small white head and good thick lacing. Nose of caramel malts with citrus hops. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor is a good balance between malts and hops, and finish is dry and lightly bitter. A very serviceable APA. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 10, 2009 Draught. Medium amber in color with a small off-white head that was lasting til the end of the glass. Grapefruit and peach fruity hop aroma. Moderate caramel flavor with light pine undertones lending a mild-to-moderate bitterness. Medium body. Worked pretty well with the pizza I ordered at Fire House in Logan, UT.
